here's the deal, they we're prolly thinking a.) ausmus has never hit anything off webb in his career and we'd rather lead off with the pitchers lsot next inning as long as he can really get ausmus out, thats what they thought, but that shouldnt be their approach.... thats too sketchy, these are professional baseball players just because he hasnt done anything off webb in his career doesnt mean he cant. he's a veteran.

Yea that was pretty much what I was thinking too....that Ausmus has been terrible vs. Webb but as you said he is still a professional aswell as a veteran....much less of a chance the pitcher gets a hit off Webb than Ausmus....unreal rationalizing by him though!!!

Absolutely...would set up the double play....may sound silly but in the long run, that will take you further...IMO
