All in all an ok day yesterday. Should have kept with my first thought that the Braves game would stay under the posted total no matter what came out. Can't hang our heads as it was yet another positive day, albeit a small gain. Onto today.

Atlanta - Smoltz -150 This will be the highest line I will play, but it is with purpose. The ace of the Braves staff now goes against the ace of the Braves staff of yester-year in this showdown. Maddux has pitched twice against the Braves last year, once in Atlanta and surrendered 6 and 5 runs, the latter being in Atlanta. Smoltz pitched against San Diego three times last year without yielding a run. San Diego does not have much offense outside of Adrian Gonzalez and maybe one of the Giles. Atlanta has cooled off but I feel that last night's come from behind win gives them some steam going into tonight's finale. Atlanta has won 7 out of the 8 3 game series they have played this year. I look for them to pound out a win today(although I hate to see Maddux get roughed up because he was my idol growing up) and chase Maddux early on in the game.
Atlanta 7 San Diego 2

New York - Maine -130 Grabbing this now before it slides back up. Outside of Bonds, the Giants offense has had no kick start to it at all this year. Matt Morris is well past his prime while Maine has not even hit his yet. The NL pitcher of the month in a pitcher's park against a struggling offense at this cheap a price. Come on now. I am a Brave fan, but Let's Go Mets!

Milwaukee - Vargas -1.5 -120 I hate laying 1.5 runs, but Milwaukee is the best team in baseball right now. They are on fire at home and I see no reason they do not sweep the worst team in baseball today and do so convincingly.
Baltimore - Bedard -128 Better pitcher at a cheap price with Baltimore maybe finally starting to hit the ball as a team? Shields not much success in Baltimore last year 7 ER in 12 innings. Bedard 7 innings 2 earned in Baltimore last year vs TB.
