  • Utah Jazz v Golden State Warriors

What an unlikely second-round Western matchup, but it is about to become a reality.

The home team is 6-0 SU in this series, with all three games in Utah being of the DD variety, and all of the games in Houston being more evenly contested. The officiating has seemed lopsided in favor of the home team in every game, which bodes well for Houston in the deciding Game 7.

No Jerry Sloan-coached team will ever give up, regardless of the score, and Utah has held the lead in all 6 games so far at the half.

I think Houston will feel the heat, and TMac will be unable to carry the load down the stretch, keeping his record perfect in 1st round playoff series....oh-fer. Juwan Howard tried to get physical with Okur, in front of Utah fans, at a time when Houston held a slight lead, and it fired up the locals. Howard tried the same stuff many years ago as a Maverick, with the same results. Utah is a smarter, more physical team, and with the pressure shifted back to Houston, should be able to overcome the huge edge home teams have held in NBA G7s historically.

Utah will stick with their sets, and Houston will continue to leave guys wide open, and then TMac will jack up ill advised shots and panic will set in.

I bleed Rocket Red, so it is with a heavy heart and a heavy sigh that I pronounce this Saturday's game as the last game of the year...for the Houston Rockets.

PS I will not bet this game, and since I am picking Utah ML and Utah +5.5, it is safe to say that those are two winners.

    GL all

And Golden State and the genius of Don Nelson will beat the Jazz in Round 2.

        Comments anyone?

            Gramps:

I can not offer any comments on the NBA as I am in year 2 on my self imposed ban, but to hear you go against your love of the home team is unsettling, but I like the truth in posting. You bleed Houston blood and to go against the team is serious shit. I have not watched a single bit of NBA this year other than highlights, so I have zero input. But when a man goes opposite of his heart, makes one think...

For your sake (and Htown), hope you are wrong...

I THINK HOUSTON is abit more diverse in style than UTAH......if im golden st ...id rather play UTAH as they seem more willing to run up and down.....i think McGRADY ability to score in slow down mode present a greater threat to the WARRIORS.

TMac's response to media questions regarding significance of G7 makes me leery, as does the body language from Rockets and bench.

Believe me, I would love to be wrong about this one, so if I am, it will be a good thing. But I cannot realistically expect the lack of intestinal fortitude ( read: H-E-A-R-T) to allow a victory by Houston to occur.

The lack of any output from the bench is crucial, especially over a 7 game series.

As disgusted as I am with the home team's perf , at least I was able to make a substantial profit on their untimely demise.

The smarter, more poised team won Hou/Utah series, and while I love the way GSt plays, they are prone to mental lapses resulting in ejections, deserved or not, so I have to be wary of following the Cinderella story.

Should be a fun series though.
