when I was pitching, in the OLd days, the term "pitching count", wasn't in anyones vocabulary.....what was there, was in between innings, the Coach, Catcher, and Pitcher would discuss....

To the Catcher----how's his stuff, is he losing any velocity, how's he spotting the ball, what do you think about leaving him in or pulling him....

To the Pitcher----how's your arm, are you getting tired, can you do one more inning, do you feel it's time to come out, do you think you should stay in....

The Pitcher, in those days, would honestly tell Coaches how they were doing......Decisions were made in unison after discussing the above issues....

This BS about a pitching coach, making the decision has always burnt my ass....Now if you have a BP with a 1.50 ERA and a 0.9 whip, the decisions are easy....Not with the BP of today.....I can't believe these guys are being paid the amount of $ (relievers) that they are.......IMO---kapt

I've tried to make Fantasy MLB trades for Matt Cain and i'm glad i couldn't get him now because that bullpen and manger will continue to fuck him all year!
