  • TORONTO vs NEW YORK YANKEES

Please note change of Probabe for Toronto; NY Yankees (R) Philip Hughes - 2-1, 3.94 era, 16 ip; in 3 gms, 17/4 K/BB @ AAA Scranton; NY Yankees (SS) Jeter Probable

ISNT THIS KID OVER VALUED ABIT.....ITS A CRAPY NITE FOR BASEBALL IN NEW YORK ....AND THIS GUY IS PRETTY GOOD IN THE MINORS, BUT IF HE WAS READY WOULDNT HE HAVE BEEN UP SOONER? TIS IS ALITTLE DESPERATION BY THE YANKS AS THE STARTERS HAVE BEEN HORRIBLE.....ALOT OF GREAT PITCHERS STRUGGLE EARLY IN MAJORS AND THIS GUY IS INSTALLED AS A PROHIBITIVE FAVORITE ......IM ON TORONTO

Hughes is a stud in the making. He was up during spring training and the Yanks just did not have a place for him. You have to give Pavano a chance, even though his arm fell off again, just because of the money he is getting and potential. I am pretty confident that Hughes throws well for the first 4-5 innings. After that, it is up to the bullpen...

Hughes is being heralded as one of the upcoming youn guns.....He's being rated pretty high by all scouts...He's unfortunate the Yanks got him, cause the yanks aren't well known for giving young guns an early chance.......

Due to injuries, and poor pitching, the Yanks are being forced to bring him up now, but they would have preferred a later date....kapt

Maybe he will...but TORONTO just lite up BOSTONS STAFF and come in here with hot bats...im sure they will be focused....and at this generous price im on toronto........if AJ BURNETT were on the YANKS he be the number1 or 2 starter at this point

Toronto has lit up Boston for the last 2 years. Some teams just have other teams numnber and the Jays have had that over the Sox. I just wouldn't use that in this game but GL on your wager!

                  4.1, 4ER, 7H, 5 SO, 1 WALK

Those #'s look decieving because of the 1st inning jitters....he threw like 30 pitches... Wells and Rios were the only ones who really hit him, other than that, he looked really good with his pitches. In the 5th, cairo had an error but gave the guy a hit. Struck out the next guy and then gave up another hit to Wells... Threw 91 pitches

Those were basically the same stats as Lester for his 1st time out.... I'm not worried at all with the kid...He's going to pan out just fine.

Yankees are going to lose 6 in a row, possibly 7 against Dice Gay 2morrow...LOL

MY point was that the line was REDICULOUS considering that he was going against a good hitting team with a starter in AJ BURNETT who is considered a decent starter and ive seen him unhittable at times.....i bet against the HYPE of this day and pounded TORONTO as this line would have been more realistic at a pick em....i got TORONTO at +160.....i think that was very generous and i jumped on it

Hughes will be good over the next few years. Just needs to mature a bit. He would definitely be someone to target if you play fantasy baseball and have a keeper league.
