  • 1st Round NBA Playoffs

Baseball seems kinda wacky at this stage as it usually is during the first part of the season! Thanks NBA!
Spear Sighting- These have done very well in the latter part of the season.

    NBA 1H (501)New Jersey at (502)Toronto UNDER 94
NBA 1H (501) NEW JERSEY @ (502) TORONTO ---Play on New Jersey
    Detroit -8 vs Orlando

Stepping back up to the plate figuring defense will return now that the games are meaningful.

Not counting the last week of the season NJ went Under in the 1h in 5 of the last 6 while Toronto was 3 of 4 Under not counting that carzy final week.

NEW JERSEY is 21-6 UNDER (+14.4 Units) the 1st half total versus good 3 point shooting teams - making >=36% of their attempts this season.

NEW JERSEY is 21-6 UNDER (+14.4 Units) the 1st half total versus good 3 point shooting teams - making >=36% of their attempts this season.

NEW JERSEY is 26-8 UNDER (+17.2 Units) the 1st half total second half of the season this season.

NEW JERSEY is 12-4 UNDER (+7.6 Units) the 1st half total on Saturday games this season.

NEW JERSEY is 18-5 UNDER (+12.5 Units) the 1st half total revenging a same season loss vs opponent this season.

TORONTO is 17-8 UNDER (+8.2 Units) the 1st half total after scoring 105 points or more this season.

    -------------------------------------
Play AGAINST TORONTO in the first half in All games in April games

Spearit, I like that Detroit play......

Both teams rested, and Detroit at home, and Detroit being defensive minded, and Orlando prone to turn ball over as much as they do, this one looks good to me......I see about a 12-14 pt game here for Detroit...........103-89 IMO

    PS----I love the OVER here....kapt

gl to ya my man---and keep em coming------kapt

Kapt- Thanx- I like Detroit and will chase it thruout this series. As for the over in the NJ game 1st half- wheww - did we ever have a close one to win on NJ Under- so if you meant this game - I understand. As for Detroit Under- most are already on it and the total will diminish. I would like to see the first half and then make a play on the under in the second half of that game.
      As for Toronto -

Toronto Raptors coach Sam Mitchell likens Vince Carter's departure from Toronto to a divorce. The marriage may be over, but the hearts of Toronto basketball fans still haven't healed. The Raptors won the Atlantic Division this year for the first time in team history, and made it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2002. Yet on the eve of the postseason, Mitchell and his players are spending less time being lauded for their accomplishments than fending off questions about how they'll handle a first-round matchup against Carter and the New Jersey Nets.Mitchell said he is tired of talking about a player who last wore a Raptors uniform in December 2004.'It's time for the city to let it go,' Mitchell said Friday. 'This is a new team. We won the Atlantic Division. (The fans) have got a team that represents the city of Toronto that they're proud of.'The divorce has been two and a half years,' he said. 'Let it go. We let it go the day the trade happened.'Forward Chris Bosh expects the fans to be vocal with their feelings when the Raptors and Nets open their series in Toronto on Saturday.'I think so, especially when you have a guy who was pretty much the cornerstone of basketball north of the border,' Bosh said. 'When you thought about the Toronto Raptors, you thought about Vince Carter, the Air Canada thing. It's been about two or three years now and people are still talking about it. That shows how important it was.'Mitchell called on Toronto's fans to make all the Nets feel as unwelcome as Carter.'You should boo the whole opposing team, whoever we play,' he said. 'We're at home. That's what home is about, booing the opposing team. I wouldn't aim my boos at one person. If you're going to boo, boo them all.'Carter has shied away from speaking about his return to Toronto, although other Nets players have said he welcomes the matchup. Guard Jason Kidd doesn't expect the fans' boos to make a difference.'It's the playoffs, so no matter where you go as the road team you are going to have 20,000-plus rooting against you,' said Kidd. 'That won't be any different than the regular season, when they were booing Vince to see him not succeed.'Nets coach Lawrence Frank also tried to play down Carter's influence on spicing up the series.'In the playoffs, there is natural juice,' Frank said. 'There's a lot of fire in the belly in the playoffs. The playoffs are a separate thing and literally this is what you play for, what you coach for, so regardless of whether there was any subplot with Vince having been a Raptor, you are going to play in a hostile environment regardless, and being the lower seed we have to find a way to win at least one game there.'To contain Carter, Bosh said the Raptors must prevent him from getting his teammates involved.'He's going to be a factor scoring, but we can't let him get everybody going,' Bosh said. 'His passing and rebounding have gotten a lot better. He's always going to score 25-plus points a game, that's no surprise. But when he's getting 10 assists and 10 rebounds, that means he's getting other guys involved and that's where he can really hurt you.'Third-seeded Toronto has the better regular-season record and home-court advantage on its side, but it's the sixth-seeded Nets, who won eight of their final 10 games, who were picked by many as the favorite to advance.'It's our time to make our mark,' Carter said. 'We fought like hell to get to this point, not only to get into the playoffs but to get the best possible seed and we are excited to put our product on the floor.'That's what it is all about, going into the playoffs on an upswing as a unit,' Carter said. 'Of course you want each individual going in on an upswing. I was trying to focus in and approach each game as a playoff game, just the mentality, just go hard for 48 minutes.'

Wakey Wakey!!! Another Spear Sighting! Said I might wait but- Nahhhh!

NBA 1H Orlando at Detroit UNDER 90.5

From 3/26 - 4/9 Detroit played 8 games and 7 of the 1H's did not break 90. Over the last 3 years 7 of the last 11 1H's btween these two went Under. I think Detroit returns to playing tough D today.

ORLANDO is 14-1 UNDER (+12.9 Units) the 1rst half total after a division game this season.

ORLANDO is 8-0 UNDER (+8.0 Units) the 1rst half total off a win against a division rival this season

DETROIT is 25-15 UNDER (+8.5 Units) the 1rst half total as a favorite of 3.5 to 9.5 points vs. the first half line this season.

DETROIT is 22-9 UNDER (+12.1 Units) the 1rst half total after having won 2 of their last 3 games this season.

Utah Jazz (buy 1/2 or wait) +7 over Houston Rockets

The Jazz are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games versus an opponent with a winning record and 5-2-1 ATS after covering the spread. Houston has fared poorly against winning teams ATS in the last 8 games.

Detroit looking like I thought. Orlando looks at this point to be finessed by the Pistons. Foul line will continue to plague Orlando!
                              I agree about the Jazz!
