Playoffs YTD 0-0
I ended the regular season with a nightmarish Sunday as I lost my game of the year when the Magic blew a 21-point fourth quareter lead and I lost a big play on the Warriors, laying 14 1/2, and who WERE LEADING BY 40 AFTER THREE QUARTERS.
My record is there for all to see in my last post in the archives and it ended badly thank to losing 9.9 units on Sunday. It was just awful. I am therefore going to consider the playoffs a fresh start and zero out my record. I love betting the NBA playoffs and think they present great opportunities because many teams play much better or much worse from night to night.
Here are my plays for this weekend:
Saturday:
1* Pistons -8
I think Detroit is a lot better than the Magic even though Orlando has the bestg player on the court in Howard. Detroit's Saunders is the Schottenheimer of basketball---he can't win in the post-season---but detroit is obsessed with a fast start after falling flat on its face in the playoffs last year (they went out in the second round despite having the best record).
Sunday:
2* Nuggets +8 1/2
Denver ended the season playing great and has just about everybody healthy. This is a great lineup: Iverson, Anthony and Camby (who is playing sensational defense) and a lot of role players. I expect them to give the Spurs a real battle and believe Denver's great inside game neutralizes Duncan (who has lost a stap).
Series bet:
1* Nuggets +650
This is a great price. San Antonio probably wins this series but I expect Denver to win all three at home and if they can pull off just one road upset, we're getting a huge price on a viable long shot.
