    The Weekly FOX Baseball Saturday Blackout Thread

    Well, its Saturday afternoon again, and that can only mean one thing...

    ONE TELEVISED BASEBALL GAME UNTIL 7PM. (Even if you shelled out the bucks for the MLB Package)


    I understand that FOX pays for the rights for the national spotlight, and when they used to show both a 1pm and a 4pm game (depending on your local region) they had every right to demand the 6 hour national blackout window... but have you noticed their little tweak this year?

    All national games now start at 3:55pm. Why the change? This allows FOX to retain control over the 2 separate 3 hour windows (1-4 and 4-7) and only show 1 game.

    Thank you FOX and Major League Baseball.

    On a related note...

    If you get WGN the broadcast of today's CWS@Cle has somehow slipped through the blackout restrictions... at least on DirecTV.

    Thank goodness, or I would have been stuck watching the Scanton/WilkesBarre Yankees vs the PawSox.

          I have the MLB.TV package and all games are playing on my Mosaic feature.

          The only Blackout I show for today are the Texas/Seattle & Houston/Philly games.

            I can't watch baseball on TV, unless I am ready for a nap. I am really bored on Saturdays and Sundays during this time of year.

            I miss college sports and football.

              On T.V. i have Cleve/Chicago on the Extra Innings package & WGN and i'll have the Red Sox on Fox at 4. I was hoping the Cubs would be on WGN but that is a no go!

                The W Sox/Clev gae was originally scheduled for 7 but moved to 1 PM so it would be warmer. That's probably why it's on the package. GL all!
