  • Nice Sat Sighting Play

I really love the Phillies today as they have a young stud pitching in Cole Hamels. The Astros team totals against Hamels is 38AB with ONLY 2 hits allowed for a .052 Avg!!! The Astros send Williams to the mound. The phillies have had good team success against him with 27 hits in 77 AB for a .350 avg Coming off the loss on Fri - I feel the Phillies get the win today at a pretty cheap price.
    *5 Philly -1.50

I would generally take nothing but the under in Oakland. The bats are starting to wake up but Oakland also has such a great bullpen.

As far as the game is an under- no play!

Why- neither pitcher looks good in this game! You have a fill in pitcher against a pitcher who has fared poorly against the Yanks.

Darrell Rasner (0-1, 10.38 ERA) will take the mound Saturday for New York after scheduled starter Carl Pavano was scratched because of tightness in his forearm. Pavano was pushed back to Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Indians at Yankee Stadium as a precaution.

Rasner, who has never faced the A's, gave up five runs and two homers in Sunday's 6-4 loss to Baltimore and left after 4 1-3 innings because of a blister. "There's no excuse for what happened," said Rasner, who was making his 12th career appearances and fifth start.

Oakland will counter with Joe Blanton (1-0, 3.97), who gave up one run in 5 1-3 innings in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels. He has struggled against the Yankees, losing both of his previous starts against them while carrying a 13.50 ERA - his worst against any team. Both of those outings came in 2005.

"They've got one of the toughest lineups in the game every year," Blanton told the Athletics' official Web site. "You have to be at your best to even have a chance. But it's not like they're in my head or anything. It's only two starts."
