GL spear. I hit a nice parlay with that Dallas under and Golden State -5. They crushed Utah.

          Thank you.

                    Good Luck Spearit

Thanks for your help the other day, it is really appreciated.

At the hospital, a CT Scan was done. It showed some sort of Air Pocket which was causing compression against a nerve and my spine. I also have calcium build-up around the disks that are herniated (L4-L5/L5-S1).

Do you understand how an air pocket gets back there?

Not sure why- but understand the body has sinus's - where the air may pocket.
And no doubt there is a stenosis or narrowing of the lower lumbar.
Calcium buildup is mainly due to injury or trauma or sitting/standing in a position for long periods of time. You may also have a massge therapist work on Myofascial Release in the area and could also do what I have written below.

My only experience with it - has to do with rolling tightly with the fingers down the back going to each space between the vertebrae and then lifting up.
It is a German technique that as you do it creates a popping sound when you hit one of these air pockets.
It relieves the compression on nerves and allows less pressure to any other apparent malady such as a ruptured disc. There are no side effects that I know of and the procedure may aid you in feeling more in control of this problem.
Again - your partner would place 2 hands together (no fingernails) at the middle of the center portion of the back-thumbs under and begin rolling down past each vertebrae to a space and then grab the skin in both hands and pull up (may hear a popping sound). Repeat! If you an area that is too tight to grab hold of the skin- then you will need to - forgive me- move your ass toward your head (I generally get a snicker from my patients at this time)- put as much bend in your low back for the time it is done. Go at your own pace and don't overdo it! Straighten up after two vertebrae or whatever works. The lift procedure is holding the skin as close to the vertebrae space as possible and then pulling the skin upward!
Its not painful - little discomfort - but the release of the air pocket is a unique feeling!

Thanks Buddy ... I'll print this and give it to my massge therapist. We'll see what happens.

Also, I forgot to tell you that I did get a nerve block injection. My back is still "tight" and my left leg is weak. I hope that this will pass in time.

The nerve block will mask the pain for awhile but in essence the leg will continue to get weaker as the blood supply has been altered. I have seen patients with their leg getting smaller than the opposing side - if not dealt with.
Your massage therapist can work on stretching the quads and hamstings of both legs as well as the gastrocnemius muscles. The work he/her does will create a better scenario for you as possibly the veinous return is also a problem. Deep Tissue work if you do not see results soon! Not recommended at first- as we do not know if clots are present.
Above all my friend is movement and heat/icing contrast. If the area feels cold- the blood is not moving- add heat. If warm add cold (no more than 12-15 minutes). Ice the low back at the Lumbar area for same amount of time to reduce inflammation after the massage and/or stretching.
Remember this- You are not handicap - You need blood to go into the left leg and the right on is fine. Your arms work fine. My point is - don't lay around- Move!!

I will bet Sparks money that if she massages and stretches the leg as mentioned- checks the hip adductors and releases them- you will not have the weakness as bad in your left leg. To prove this- have a stairway or step in front of you and simply step up with your left ball of foot on the step and then bring the back of the foot down making your toes go toward your head. Repeat until the strength starts to return. This will show that the leg has tightened and needs the work as well.
