      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cleveland at Chicago: Pick Indians -105

Whatever happened to the Chicago White Sox pitching staff? Freddy Garcia and Brandon McCarthy both left in the offseason so the White Sox will be depending on Jose Contreras, Jon Garland and Mark Buehrle.

Buehrle is trying to bounce back from a terrible season last year in which he registered a career-high 4.99 ERA. He didn’t look much better during spring training. In 22 innings pitched, he surrendered 17 earned runs for a 6.75 ERA.

Travis Hafner, Grady Sizemore and the rest of the Indians lineup should be happy to face Buehrle. Last time he pitched against Cleveland, Buehrle gave up 10 hits and five runs in four quick innings.

Oakland at Los Angeles: Pick Angels -135

We’re getting into the No. 4 and 5 spots in pitching rotations and that normally means the bullpens have a larger impact on the outcome of a game.

If that’s the case in this game, look for the Los Angeles Angels to come out on top. Setup man Scot Shields and closer Francisco Rodriguez all both lights out in the latter innings and the numbers back it up. Since 2002, the Angels relievers rank first in save percentage (76.1) and ERA (3.32).

The bullpen got off to a great start on Monday, pitching four scoreless innings in a 4-1 win over the Texas Rangers.

San Diego at San Francisco: Pick Giants +104

Barry Bonds stole a base? Who knew the round mound could still run? It appears Bonds is trying to send a message to his critics.

“I’m going to have fun this year,” Bonds told the San Francisco Chronicle just before the Giants' season opener. “I’m going to have a good time. I’m going to enjoy every day.”

Until he surpasses Hank Aaron’s all-time home run record, all eyes will be on Bonds while he has a “good time."

        Los Angeles at Phoenix
In the battle between the bottom two teams in the West, Phoenix comes in with a five-game losing streak, including a 5-2 setback at home to St. Louis on Tuesday in which Curtis Joseph was pulled from the net for the second time in three games. Overall the Coyotes are just 2-12-2 in their last 16 games and look like a shaky Vegas favorite according to Dunkel, which has L.A. favored straight up by 1. Dunkel Pick: Los Angeles (+1 1/2).
