  • TP's Bases, 4/2/07

I only posted plays for half the season last year. It wasn't a great year, but profitable enough. Posted record was +8.42 units last season, but I also posted a couple futures that won, so take that for what it's worth.

I flat bet almost exclusively - I'll throw a 2 or 3 unit play out a couple times a month - and, for grading purposes, I'll be posting all lines from BetJamaica, though a lot of my action will be at Matchbook, WSEX, or 5Dimes when I can find a better number.

    Monday Plays (0-0, +0.00*)

Nationals +112 (JP/DW) - Patterson is a pitcher that, when healithy, has been every bit as good as Willis in his young career. I don't have a lot of confidence in the Nats ability to score on Willis, but this is a 50/50 game.

Brewers -118 (BS/DL) - Dodgers much better against RHP than LHP, Sheets is the better pitcher and I expect the Brewers to get Lowe for at least a couple. Get used to seeing me bet on what I consider a very undervalued Brewers team.

Rockies +106 (AC/BW) - Reasonable number for Cy Young winner, but on the other hand Cook is tough at Coors, and Webb will struggle with the Rockies here.

Indians +107 (CS/JC) - Sabathia should have success with a White Sox team he dominated last year, and one that struggled with lefties most of the season. The Indians are my pick to win the Central, and I think the White Sox are competing with KC to stay out of the cellar.

Royals +149 (GM/CS) - I'm expecting Schilling to have a terrible year, and while Meche isn't worth all the money he was paid, he has had success with the Red Sox recently, and the Royals - who are offensively strong - kill righties at home.

Orioles @ Twins Under 7.5 -120 (EB/JS) - Two of the three worst teams in the AL against LHP last year, and two dominant lefties on the mound make for a quality pitcher's duel.

    Have a great year everyone!

Thanks everyone! I didn't really want to add this game, but with the line movement, I think I have to.

Devil Rays (SK/CP) +167 - I'm actually expecting Pavano to have a good year, but he's still the inferior pitcher in this one. The Rays lineup has quality, and while I don't expect them to get a lot of runs, Kazmir has done well enough against the Yankees that the Rays (which only has to win a little more than one of three times) have enough value to play.
