  • KINGNEIL'S Final Four

    Here goes the big one:

    759 G'TOWN -1 10 units

Gotta love em here. They are the better team! Oh St won 2 games they should've lost. X had them beat (clearly) and gave it up at the end. The players sucked it out, but more importantly, the coach sucked it out BAD. All they had to do was foul instead of allowing a 3-point jumper. And this was a mediocre team at the big dance where all are prepared. Oh St. has shown they are young and inexperienced. The same went fot North Carolina, and they even had a better squad. G'town is big, defensive, and will get Oh St in foul trouble early and will frustrate them defensively. They are just the better team.

I'm waiting for the UCLA line to inflate more, and I may drop some on them. Florida is a good team, but they will NOT repeat championships. Only GREATNESS repeats championships (Duke 1992, etc.). Fla pulled it out last year, but they can pack their bags this year. Even if they slide past UCLA, G'town will shut them down. They are not greatnees, and punks like Noah will never be great.
My rating system is as follows:

    1-10 units on plays typically
20+ on extremely hot picks, goy, etc. (VERY rare)
    ---------------------------------------------------
    LAST SEASON:

    CBB 75-42-4 +142.6 UNITS ($14260) YEAH BABY!!!

    NFL 1-0 +1 UNITS ($100)

    NBA 49-30-4 +93.2 UNITS ($9320)

Do I Interpret the write up this way....

Geo Town -1 vs Ohio St

        UCLA + whatever vs Fla....
If Fla should beat Geo Town

then Geo town to beat Fla or UCLA...

What If OSU Beats Geo Town....

Let's face some facts: G-town should have lost 2 games also, including one to Vandy who is no better than Xavier.
OH ST is young, but has senior leadership, and phenoms. Con JR & Oden have played together through high school. So, your experience argument isn't very valid. Plus they have a little tougher players than NC's Hansbaby. Even if Oden is in foul trouble, OH ST will run the floor.
As far as being the better team, My $$$ will be on the Buckeyes. They didn't lose only 3 games this year (when Oden wasn't at full strength) for a reason. And the Big Ten and Big East are both not very strong conferences which is even.
OH ST's losses --- at NC (W/O Oden), at FLA (Oden just back), and at WISC (when Wis was at full strength)
ALL OF THE TEAMS WERE #1 at one time this year!
          G-town was never #1.
G-Town's losses --- Home to Old Dominion, Home to Oregon, at a weak Duke team, Home to Villanova, at PITT, at SYR.
G-town's best loss was to Oregon. The rest were weaker NCAA or NIT teams.
          Edge: OSU.
          Center: Edge OSU
          PG: Edge OSU
          SG: Even
          FWs: Even
Bench: D. Cook might go in the top 20 in the draft coming off OH ST's bench. Edge OSU
OH ST finally put together a full game against Memphis and I expect no different. You know where my $$$ is going.

I expect UCLA to win because the PAC 10 is the best overall BBall Conference this year. I will take them on the $line.

Yeah, I'm debating on taking UCLA. I want to see what the line inflates to.

Yes, I believe G'town will win, but UCLA has the best chance to beat G'town.

If, by some crazy chance Oh St and Fla meet in the championship, I'll be sleeping during the game :-)

There are a lot of arguments that can be made either way, and it seems everybody is arguing both sides. I never roll with the young, inexperienced teams as they typically do poor in the BIG games (even when very talented). G'town had some bad games, and every team in college did. But having watched all these games, I must say G'town is more disciplined, smarter, and has a much better defense. This isn't football and defense isn't more important than offense, but Oh St does not have a better offense so the edge definately goes to the G men. The G men have a slow-paced, defensive game. Because of this they don't score a ton and people sleep on the fact they can score. They just score and play at their pace. They control the game when they play. They will control the pace of Oh St likewise. They will frustrate a very young, inexperienced team like Oh St

Even though we disagree this time, I respect your views KING.
I picked UCLA to beat OSU in every pool that I am in and truly believe it should happen. So far, my bracket is in the top 99.9% of the ESPN brackets.

That's what it's all about brother. We discuss things, share views, and hopefully help each other out. Never are we here to argue, and it gets on my nerves when others do :-) But I respect your views, as I do everybody's, and as everybody should with everybody.

                      Best of luck to you!

p.s. How many losses do you have in your brackets? Sounds like you've done a great job!

I have no idea who idea is going to win, but this doesn't make much sense. Good teams find a way to win when they should have otherwise lost. GL!

Apples- the X game was a no-brainer. You're up 3, Oh St is coming down the court, foul them with 2 seconds left and don't allow them to attempt a 3-pointer. That had to be the WORST coaching job EVER! That should've been a loss, period. No exceptions. But in general, yes, great teams find a way to win. Oh St is a good team, and has a lot of talent, I just don't think they can win the championship. Youth hurts, esp. against a stiffling, dominating D like G'town. But I see you're a Oh St fan, so good luck! No matter what happens, they did a great job so be proud!
