Kansas St -28 vs California - 1 unit

I've been going back and forth with this one, and finally wound up sticking with my first instinct.

KSU is 14-3 ats last 6 yrs vs non-conf, 14-5 ats last 2 yrs as fav. Cal won't be able to run effectively and give new QB any cushion to pass. Cal scores 14 TOPS in this one and gives up at least 49.

Good Luck everyone! What an exciting time of year!!

Just a question for you??Did you look at who that 14-3 mark was against?? I'll give you a hint KStates next 2 games after this are with Troy St and UMASS and think you will find a lot of similiar teams in that 14-3 record of theirs. This is just WAY too many points to lay in a early game.

Home Fav Last 6 yrs - 27-9 ats (this is pretty much a home game for them) and these weren't all against troy st and UL monroe.

I know it's early, but with only 2 returning starters on Defense, will they be able to stop KSU? A new QB and lost leading rusher and receiver from a year ago....a lot of question marks on offense?? Will the turnovers be there to help Cal again starting this season as they did all last year?

You can make either side sound good, and we've ALL been wrong before, but I see this as an early blowout. Either way, good luck to ALL as always!
          Good Luck!!

If I'm not mistaken, K St. is 1-1 ATS at Kansas City with that non cover being against Iowa in a similar situation as today's game. No doubt Snyder likes to run up the score and on paper this looks like a mismatch. But remember, Tedford developed Dilfer, Harrington and turned Boller into a high draft pick when he looked like he could have been an also ran. The man can coach and his forte is offense. Cal's biggest strength is their offensive line. They should be able to move the ball on K St. Scoring might be another matter. Not sure if I'll play this but it does intrigue me. Like Bookie Buster said 28 is a lot this early in the season and Cal is a step above the usual K St. nonconference cupcake.

              Not

so fast. KSU has faced big and good offensive lines in the past. Yes, Snyder does not schedule anything in the non-conference, but this is a huge mismatch. Cal will not move the ball on the Lynch Mob Defense. The losses of Pierce and Newman are not as big as anticipated and this defense will show to be just as good as last year's. KSU has a new and better offensive coordinator that will utilize Sproles and Robertson in all aspects. 95% of the crowd will be Purple. Cal gets rolled... 56-10...... KSU and the over..
