I figured I'd let you guys in on the right sides of the games tonight. There is significant value in both lines tonight, in my estimation. In both games, I am taking the far superior coach and more disciplined team.
West Virginia +1.5
On paper, MSU is clearly the better team. The two variables that work against them here are the fact that WVU has a lot of experience in MSG, and the fact that they aren't the kind of team that can handle WVU's unique 1-3-1 defense. MSU's perimeter defense leaves a lot to be desired, and I can see WVU's perimeter shooters fogging in a lot of 3s.
AFA -1
I see the public backing Clemson here, and can only scratch my head in amazement. Clemson stands for everything that is wrong with basketball, Air Force stands for everything that is right.
Clemson hasn't played a team that plays the unique system that AFA does, and they will be frustrated and perplexed by it, especially since Oliver Purnell is one of the worst coaches the ACC has ever seen. Clemson is poorly coached. Clemson doesn't play team defense. Clemson takes bad shots. Clemson can't shoot free throws at all. Air Force is exactly the opposite, and if not for a late season lull, they would have been a noisemaker in the NCAA tournament. They regained control, and I think they win easily tonight.
Also played Ole Miss women +10 - the line is too high, whether they win or lose. Ole Miss gave Tennessee a tough game IN Knoxville, despite their best player, Price, being in serious foul trouble throughout. Ole Miss is playing incredible basketball right now, and they are an almost impossible team to prepare for on one day's rest.
Good luck everyone!
