Phoenix Suns at Sacramento Kings (ABC | 3:30 PM ET)
The Suns have won the last five meetings with the Kings, going 4-1 ATS during that stretch. This completes a home-and-home series after Phoenix won 118-100 on Thursday. EDGE: SUNS
Sacramento's Ron Artest missed Thursday's game due to a court appearance, but that doesn't necessarily mean the Kings will be able to beat the Suns in this one. "They'll be a better team with Ron Artest, no doubt about it," Phoenix coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We'll see a different team a little bit more motivated; we'll have to be ready for them." SLIGHT EDGE: KINGS
OVER is 16-5 in Phoenix's last 21 games against Pacific Division opponents.
Sacramento is 1-7 ATS in its last eight games.
The second half of the Elite Eight will be completed on Sunday, with Oregon taking on top-seeded Florida, and Georgetown taking on top-seeded North Carolina. Here's a look at Sunday's contests.
Oregon (3) vs. Florida (1) - 2:40pm EDT Edward Jones Dome - St. Louis, MO
The Ducks advanced to the Elite Eight by getting past the No. 7 UNLV Runnin' Rebels on Friday night by a final score of 76-72. Oregon took a four-point lead into the break in that game, but could only play even with the Rebels in the second half en route to the slim victory. Tajuan Porter scored a game-high 33 points for the Ducks against UNLV, and his team just managed to cover the 3-point spread (with the combined score going OVER the posted total of 140.5). Oregon also easily covered in Round 2 against Winthrop (winning 75-61), but they were almost upset by Miami-Ohio in the tourney opener, winning just 58-56.
The defending-champion Gators had a tougher-than-expected time against No. 5 Butler on Friday night, taking just a six-point lead into halftime and winning 65-57. Florida failed to cover the big 10.5-point spread in that game, while the combined score fell UNDER the night's posted total (126.5). Taurean Green had a team-high 17 points for the Gators, and Al Horford tossed in 16 points. Back in Round 2 Florida also failed to cover the posted spread, beating Purdue 74-67 as 12-point favorites. In their tournament opener, however, the high-powered Gators topped 100 points in a 112-69 win over Jackson State, covering the 27.5 points.
Oddsmakers opened the Gators as 6.5-point favorites in this Elite Eight matchup, and that line stayed steady through the day Saturday. The total is listed at 141.5.
Georgetown (2) vs. North Carolina (1) - 5:05pm EDT Continental Airlines Arena - East Rutherford, NJ
Georgetown came all the way back from an eight-point halftime deficit on Friday night to knock out No. 6 Vanderbilt by a 66-65 final score. DaJuan Summers and Jeff Green each scored 15 points for the Hoyas in that victory, while Roy Hibbert picked up 12 points and 10 rebounds. The close result prevented Georgetown from covering the spread in that one; the Hoyas had been favored by 7.5 points (while the combined score fell UNDER the posted total of 132.5). Georgetown also didn't manage to cover the 7.5-point spread in Round 2, when they defeated Boston College 62-55, but they paid off in Round 1 by defeating Belmont 80-55.
The Tar Heels also needed to rally to get a victory in Round 3, outscoring No. 5 Southern Cal 41-22 in the second half on their way to a 74-64 win. North Carolina had been favored by 8.5 points in that game, and their second-half surge allowed them to cover that spread (while the combined score fell UNDER the posted total of 152). Brandan Wright scored a team-high 21 points versus the Trojans, while Tyler Hans-brough was held to just five points. Back in Round 2 the Tar Heels covered a 10-point spread in an 81-67 win over Michigan State, but they failed to cover the 27.5 points in Round 1 against Eastern Kentucky (86-65).
Oddsmakers opened the Tar Heels as 4-point favorites in this contest, but that line soon fell to just 3.5 points on Saturday. The total is currently sitting at 139.5.
