I should have stuck to my plan and played only my top first round game because it won easily w/Kansas. Unfortunately, I added a loser with Oregon. One college play today and three in the NBA including a very strong selection.
NBA:
2* Bucks -9 1/2
Milwaukee looked like a different team Thursday night when it upset San Antonio in the debut for new coach Krystkowiak. Players really seem to like him and several hugged him after the win. Milwaukee has underachieved all year for former HC Stotts and was dogging it badly for a couple of weeks. They played very hard for Krystkowiak and I expect the attitude change to continue. They may go on a mini-run and catch Charlotte traveling after a Friday night home loss. The Bobcats are all beaten up and meet a Bucks team that will relish the chance to have a rare laugher. (This is only my second 2* of the year and I thought strongly about rating it even higher.)
1* Cavs -4 1/2
Cleveland is playing great right now, winning seven in a row (the last three by blowouts). Utah has lost three straight on its road trip and might be zonked by a one point loss last night in Philly.
1* Nuggets +3
The double overtime game may have sapped both Dallas and Phoenix as both came back flat with the Mavs getting crushed and Phoenix barely beating Boston last night. Now, the Suns have to travel on no rest to meet a Nuggets team that is finally healthy and in the middle of a mini-run. They looked real good in destroying the Lakers by 29 Thursday night.
NCAA:
1* Virginia Commonwealth +8
This is my strongest NCAA play of the day. VCU may be this year's Cinderella team. The win over Duke showed real guts as they battled from behind. Pitt ended the season rather flat and may be overvalued here.
Opinions only:
Boston College
Xavier
(After favorites dominated the first round, I look for lots of upsets in the second round and think all three of my dogs could win straight up.)
