Money Management Question Please help

What would you rather do on the halftime lines?

I have 1 book that give me lower lines but higher juice and the other 1 higher line but less vig.

Example

Wisconson -9.5 (-150)

or Wisconson -11.5 (-115)

some are not quite that high like Oregon

-4.5 (-120)

or -5.5 Even money

I would take the -4.5 and -150

don't know about the wisky though, I would never lay 150 but 11.5 was high, depends on the 1/2 time score. what was wisky down at the half?

Do you have a bet on the game?

If yes, then I wouldn't bet the 1/2 line.

If no, in you like Oregon, take the 4.5 and you get what the line was (Oregon -8.5)

WHEN I WROTE THIS KARL, MIA WASN'T PLAYING TOO GOOD OF DEFENSE WITH OREG SHOOTING 8-22 FROM THE FIELD AND YET WERE LOSING 25-22.
THE TEAMS COMBINED TO SCORE 68 POINTS, 5 OVER THE 2ND HALF TOTAL. OREGON WAS 15-17 FROM THE FOUL LINE. GIVING A TEAM 17 FOUL SHOTS IS NOT PLAYING GOOD DEFENSE.
OREGON PLAYED JUST ENOUGH DEFENSE TO WIN, BUT THE TOTAL STILL WENT OVER, WITH BOTH TEAMS SHOOTING A LITTLE ABOVE 40%. IF YOU CALL IT A DEFENSIVE BATTLE, THAN I GUESS THAT'S THE WAY YOU SAW IT.

I THINK I WAS CORRECT IN FIGURING OUT THE SECOND HALF AND SAID THAT I WOULN'T PLAY EITHER TEAM AS HE WAS ASKING ABOUT LAYING -4.5, WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN A LOSER.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS, I JUST TRYED TO HELP OUT THE DUDE WHO THREW 20* AWAY BETTING AGAINST WISCY, WHICH TO ME PLAYED "GREAT DEFENSE" ON THEIR SECOND HALF COMEBACK.

My question is just on 1 particular game, my question is do you consider the points more important or the juice.

I know you have to hit, like 52.6% of your picks at -110 to break even. So giving the choice would you like to lay or get a better point spread or have more juice.

It is like in baseball, I hate bases because of the lines. Of course the good picks are big favorites. So in baseball and you have 2 picks ---

example

LA Dodgers -200
Atlanta -110

Do you risk losing twice as much on LA and put the same on both teams or do you in effect risk the same and put 1/2 as much on LA so your lose is even?

Another question I have are on unit ratings per game. If you play 5 unit and 10 unit. Do you put twice as much money on the 10 unit? If that is the case why play the 5 unit at all because your money will be made with the 10 unit.

Guess I am just trying to find a way to make a living at this. HA HA

My take

I always take the points with the higher juice. Example is if Wisconsin for the game is -13 at one book and -12 -120 at another book, I would take -12 -120. This also applies to halftime lines for me. Most of my bets are for 1 unit and if I really like a game I would go 2 units. Once in a great while I might go 3. Different cappers have different styles. I am trying to bet less games as I find myself not doing as well when I bet a bunch of games. Good luck with you're betting, just remember never to chase and have discipline as there is always tomorrow and a whole new set of games to bet.
