  • Thursday CFL and NFLX.........

The run in baseball continued yesterday, going 2-0 (+8 units)! Currently on a 13-2 run in MLB! Nothing on the board that I like today in bases, only playing NFLX and CFL today......

    NFLX

2 STAR: Dallas (+5.5) OVER PITTSBURGH

I look for a very fired up Dallas team to give a strong effort at Heinz field in Pittsburgh this Thursday night after new Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells walked out on the team during an uninspired practice this week. The Steelers have not looked very good so far this pre-season, and laying 5 points seems like a lot to ask against the young Cowboys who will want to have a good showing on National TV for Parcells. The Cowboys are also 7-1 against the spread when the total is 35 or less over the last 3 pre-seasons. How bout them Cowboys!

    2003 NFL PRE-SEASON RECORD

    5 STAR RECORD 3-1 (+9.5 UNITS)
    3 STAR RECORD 0-2 (-6.6 UNITS)
    2 STAR RECORD 2-3 (-2.6 UNITS)
    1 STAR RECORD 1-0 (+1.0 UNITS)

    OVERALL RECORD 6-6 (+1.3 UNITS)
    A $100 player would be up $130.00

    CFL

5 STAR: Toronto (+9) OVER MONTREAL

Montreal is 2-8 against the spread vs. poor rushing teams that are averaging 90 or less rushing yards per game over the last 3 seasons. The Alouettes are usually a terrible second half of the season team against the spread, posting a 6-16 record against the spread in the second half of the season over the last 3 years. Toronto usually does well in the second half of the season and the Argos have a 25-11 record against the spread in weeks 10 through 15 since 1996. Take the points here!

    2003 CFL RECORD

    5 STAR RECORD 4-2 (+9.0 UNITS)
    3 STAR RECORD 6-3 (+7.9 UNITS)
    2 STAR RECORD 6-7-2 (-3.2 UNITS)
    1 STAR RECORD 1-1 (-0.1 UNITS)

    OVERALL RECORD 17-13-2 (+13.6 UNITS)
    A $100 player would be up $1360.00

    Good luck,
    John

    I think it interesting to note something here that parallels your outlook at the moment ;

Observation in the last two weeks , it is notable that the number of dogs winning outright. 8 of 10 dogs won outright in week one , 8 dogs also won in week two. So thats 16 of 18 dogs that won outright and cashed. To go even further the straight up winner was also the point spread winner in 29 of 31 games played .

So its simple , just pick the winner and toss the points out the window !

MM does that mean that size doesn't matter?

Seriously, I remember one season in NFL where someone pointed that out - ignore the point spread and pick the winner (but don't always go with the favorite - try also to pick upsets).

NFL can get tricky as you know

i believe if you would of bet 100% dogs + points last season (including play-offs) you would of win 55% of your bets

i might be off by percentage points, but dogs=profit last year

nut, so basically you break even with the dogs and lose with the favorites last year? That makes for a TOUGH sport but i LOVE it!

          GOOD LUCK JOHN

            ReCap.......

A 1-1 night down 3.5 units overall. Cashed in the Cowboys in pre-season NFL, but lost the 5 STAR in CFL. I have a big NFL pre-season play for Firday that I will post in the morning.

I will be looking for it and will be all over it :D

keep up the great work in baseball and can see the big streak getting ready in football.

I will never forget your 10-0 Record in the playoffs last year. All I can say to that is:

              1 of 1 Morons

                Thanks Homer,

When I get in those streaks, I swear sometimes I can see the boxscore before the games are played. Its been like that the last two weeks in baseball. Hopefully it will carry over to football season!!!!

                  John!!

There was an article in the USA Today sports section about K-State.....rather in depth and interesting......Snyder's philosphy is to play week non-conference schedules to win the games number one.....and play his bench number two....so his team will be healthy and game experienced when the Big 12 hits vs. a Colorado team for example that will take on like a CST, WASH and a couple other power teams.

Done any looking at the defenses of the two schools? No mention in teh article really about that. It would seem to me that that is where the key to the side and totals will be derived!

I still like -27.5 and will probably check the over!

Congrats on all your winners the last couple weeks..awesome work John!..FWIW.....Goldv
