  • Bracket Question/Help Thread

Quiet day here, so messing around with the bracket this morning and would love some feedback from the board on some of my questions that I am having.

    1) In the west, I preface this with I do not like UCLA that much, but I have not done a bracket yet that has anything other then Kansas versus UCLA in the Elite 8 with Kansas going to the final four, can I get some others thoughts on this?

    2) Can Florida be upset by Maryland in the Sweet Sixteen?

    3) Can Texas upset UNC?

    4) Can Georgetown be a final four and/or in the National Championship game?

    5) Can Louisville get past stanford and then upset Tex A&M? And if so I think either of those teams can beat Memphis?

    6) OSU is a definite Elite Eight Team I think? And Can they be upset by Tex A&M, Memphis or Louisville?

    7) Can anyone like me see Oregon as an elite eight team?

    THANKS?

I have KU vs Pitt and KU vs UCLA. I think Pitt can get lucky, but I ome up with KU vs UCLA more

      2) Can Florida be upset by Maryland in the Sweet Sixteen?
I think Maryland can get to the final 4

      3) Can Texas upset UNC?
I think Texas can win the whole thing

      4) Can Georgetown be a final four and/or in the National Championship game?
I think Georgetown can win it all

      5) Can Louisville get past stanford and then upset Tex A&M? And if so I think either of those teams can beat Memphis?
I think Louisville, stanford, or A&M can get to the elite 8. I think Texas A&M can get to the final 4. I feel Memphis won't even beat Nevada and if they do, they won't get to the Elite 8. I think memphis is very strong team in a very weak conference.

      6) OSU is a definite Elite Eight Team I think? And Can they be upset by Tex A&M, Memphis or Louisville?
Texas A&M yes,Louisville maybe, Memphis no

      7) Can anyone like me see Oregon as an elite eight team?
They could but it will be tough, Miami (OH) won't be pleasent, but they should still win, Notre Dame could beat them. Then Ga Tech (but not UNLV), or Wisconsin will be very tough. I have a sweet 16 matchup of Ga Tech vs Oregon and Ga Tech vs ND. But there is no reason why the Ducks can't get there.
      THANKS?

Hope I helped at least a little.
      Good Luck to everyone

        1. I agree
        2. About a 20% chance (imo)
        3. Yes, but i say they don't
        4. Yes, but i say they won't be
        5. Yes and Yes with both games in Kentucky and Yes to beating Memphis as a possibility
        6. They could. I think A&M has the best shot to beat them.
        7. Yes

          1. I like Kansas
          2. I think Maryland gets bounced by Davidson, Florida is too good and rolling right now, only the elite can stop them.
          3. Yes they can, but I don't think they will
          4. Yes they can
          5. I think Louisville beats Stanford and that game with A&M is a toss up.
          6. I think Ohio St. could lose in the 2nd round. I think the bottom half of the backet is much tought than the top half though.
          7. Not sure if they can get past Notre Dame, that is is Notre Dame beats Winthrop.

              1) The West is my chalk bracket. I also have the 1 versus 2 meeting.

              2) No. Arizona will have already beaten Florida, and Maryland will beat them.

              3) I'm not sure I see Texas getting that far, but if they do, they can give UNC a great game.

              4) Georgetown is my national champion.

              5) Yes, only because they are playing at home. Memphis is not a very good team and they will be beaten in the second round.

              6) I could see BYU or Xavier giving OSU problems. If they get past that game, the only team in the region I think can beat them is Texas A&M.

              7. I have Oregon defeating Maryland to advance to the Final 4.
              Records:

              NCAA Hoops (38-34-2, +4.59*)
              NFL Sides (34-25, +12.15*)
              NFL Totals (18-14-1, +8.23*)
              NCAA Foots Plays (65-48-4, +21.47*)
              NBA Plays (4-1-0, +5.92*)

Sure, Kansas could do their perennial stumble, and UCLA could be had, especially after closing the season with two losses, but I can't seriously pick anyone else in this "B" list region.

                2) Can Florida be upset by Maryland in the Sweet Sixteen?

Monkeys could fly out of my butt. ( Noone in this region is going to beat the Gators)

                3) Can Texas upset UNC?

Texas has the best 18 year old I've seen (and I saw both MJs-Magic and Michael) and though a young team, they shoot FTs and 3s well enough, could win the whole enchilada.

                4) Can Georgetown be a final four and/or in the National Championship game?
This is without a doubt the most top-heavy region, with teams that could advance including GT, Texas, and NC all as likely as the other. Three-headed coin-flip, IMO

                5) Can Louisville get past stanford and then upset Tex A&M? And if so I think either of those teams can beat Memphis?

Memphis on 22 game win streak, admittedly against weaker comp, but 22 straight is still 22 straight, and are a notch above A&M and Louisville, IMO. A&M's mental toughness in losses to TTech and OSU concern me.

                6) OSU is a definite Elite Eight Team I think? And Can they be upset by Tex A&M, Memphis or Louisville?

OSU is scoring-challenged, and on an off night at this level can be beaten by several teams, esp. if Oden gets into foul trouble.

                7) Can anyone like me see Oregon as an elite eight team?

Most definitely--but they will have earned it with wins over several top teams, possibly ND, UNLV or Wiscy. My concern is that they have been unconscious shooting, esp 3s and it cannot possibly stay at that rate--or can it?
You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.
