  • Wednesday Baseball.............

Homeruns by Phil Nevin and Barry Bonds give us a 2-0 (+8.4 units) night. I'm currently on an 11-2 run in Major League Baseball! Lets try to keep it rolling again today with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy. Playing the same two teams today as yesterday.........

5 STAR: SAN FRANCISCO (-$110) OVER Atlanta
    (Jesse Foppert vs. Shane Reynolds)
Shane Reynolds is 1-5 in nine starts against San Francisco with an ERA of 4.66 and a WHIP of 1.553 since 1997. His team's record is 2-7 in those nine starts. The Giants are also 10-3 at home with a money line of -100 to -125 this season. Giants should win two in a row here.

3 STAR: SAN DIEGO (-$125) OVER New York
    (Jake Peavy vs. Aaron Heilman)
Pitching mismatch here. Peavy is 1-1 in his last three starts with an ERA of 1.66. Two of those games he threw shutouts, with the loss coming to the Braves when he allowed 4 runs. Aaron Heilman is 1-2 in his last three starts with an ERA of 7.24, and on the road this season his ERA is a whopping 11.25! Road teams with a cold starting pitcher with a WHIP of 2.0 or higher over his last 5 starts, and are a hot hitting team, batting .290 or better over their last 20 games (which the Mets are) are only 19-49 since 1997. Look for the Padres to hammer Heilman tonight.

    2003 MLB RECORD

    5 STAR RECORD 74-39 (+89.23 UNITS)
    3 STAR RECORD 114-99 (+70.60 UNITS)
    2 STAR RECORD 54-72 (-36.52 UNITS)
    1 STAR RECORD 34-33 (+1.15 UNITS)

    OVERALL RECORD 276-243 (+124.36 UNITS)
    A $100 player would be up $12,436.00

    Good luck,
    John

Good picks, although they were both close.
I definitely would not have played SF on my own.

      great calls!

I played your San Fran wager and stayed up late for that game. The Giants just don't seem to lose at home, even though they play ugly baseball. . . Pac Bell can only hold down so many would-be home runs! That ball DeRosa hit in the top of the ninth should have been long gone! And Santiago was out by a mile at home, but was called safe for the tying run. . . .

Your record speaks for itself. Thank you for your hard work!

Not how I envisioned either one of them, but you will take 2-0 anyway you can get it! :D

        Hope everyone cashed in!
