  • Gambling Mantras!

Advise and encourage any new sports gambler and those who lose money at gambling to read the following advice.
These mantras will help encourage discipline and maintain a solid betting stance in sports gambling!
New contibutions are welcome- or you may challenge any of these!

    GAMBLING MANTRAS!

Lose patience, Lose your money faster
NEVER BET for the sake of having action on a game.
    NEVER Bet when your Hungry
NEVER Bet when drunk or high (Vegas loves ya baby!)
NEVER Bet when you are emotionally unstable or tired from lack of sleep or just plain bored.
NEVER Chase losses;YOU will most likely Lose again

Straight bets only Sides and Totals !
3-5% of total bankroll per play!

    RULES

RULE 1 : Do NOT bet anything you can not afford
RULE 2 : Set you yourself a daily, weekly(or monthly) limit. If you go through the bankroll- stop - give yourself a break- Keep doing what you are doing and you will keep getting what you are getting!
RULE 3 : Never play on any game or use the word "lock". Never forget that a game is formulated and predicated on what is assembled pre-game and that the play on the court is real and your bet is just "hope". Remember that a key player can be fouled out or get hurt or the action has been slowed or quickened to ruin your bet. The best plays are high percentage plays that incorporate a capper that you trust and his analysis of the game. If you check out his work and see other things not mentioned- could make a solid play or a non-play.
RULE 4 : Re-emphasized- Don't bet on a play unless you have also looked into the game. Get a feel for what is happening. For example- This team has to travel to the West Coast after an OT game the night before or this coach played for the opponents coach and won't run the score up- anything that gives you a feel for the game that co-exists with your cappers viewpoint or your own capping stats/trends/odds swing/injuries/etc.
RULE 5 : DON'T change your betting strategy- stick with what works instead of reaching for this and that.
RULE 6 : Parlay's might be an attraction and you might think its a quick fix but your chances of hitting it is much higher than you think. Same goes for Teasers (easier than parlays but the money is similar to one play). This is like forecasting 2 games which has a 25% chance of hitting. If you go to the casino- what game is most promising and has odds of hitting at 50%- thats your best odds and the rest are sucker bets.
RULE 7 : Don't bet on every game just for the sake of it. Keep a note attached to your computer saying- Be Patient- Wait! - Don't push a play (like say a player is out and ...)
RULE 8 : Betting on 1st half or second half of a game can be very risky. Try to bet on a full game. (Taking the favored team at the half when it is down is a popular play and has at times done well but Vegas isn't stupid.)
RULE 9 : If you lose 3 days in a row or if there is no money left in your betting account, take 2-3 days or more to check your mistakes and devise a new game plan. Come back slowly and get a winning feel before you press on!
RULE 10 : The overall main idea is
    "Don't Get Greedy". (DGG)
Win small but consistently other than going for big money and lose everything.
Rule 11 : If you follow a capper- stay with him instead of jumping around. How many times have we played on a cappers picks after an incredible run and lose once we follow.

    GOOD PRACTICES:
    Research your bets
Set budgets for how much you can gamble
Take a break from time to time -
You have to realize that this obscession is gambling and the odds are you are not coming out a winner.
You may say why- well because of a lack of discipline! Its in your gene pool. Even good cappers have left the scene due to not having control. How many large bets do we lose and how many small bets do we win! Why do we become impatient- why does the moment of betting become more important than the actual play! Do we need a fix to feel better about ourselves?

    BAD HABITS:
    Chasing losses
    Changing your staking plans
Betting on things you don't understand
    Being Greedy
    Betting at bad odds
Betting what you cant afford to lose

Well--- hmmmm lets look at how the Super Bowl People handled it!

"We're not trying to discourage people from having a good time betting. For you cheapo degenerates who lose all your money betting on the game,
AAA is reviving its "Tipsy Tow" program, where drunks can request a tow truck that, if available, will take them and their car home from 6 p.m. tonight to 6 a.m. Monday. It's free for trips inside of seven miles by calling (800) 227-4357, and you don't have to be a AAA member to call.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.
