    Six-Pack for Friday

I'll be going over all 30 major league teams, giving stats on each of them, as we heads towards the 2007 season......... today, we look at the Baltimore Orioles

-- Miguel Tejada has 812 RBI, 713 runs scored in the last seven seasons, Derek Jeter has 519 RBI, 789 runs scored.

-- Ramon Hernandez' 87 RBI is Orioles team record for a C.

-- Orioles were 16-33 against lefty starters last season, so it is Jay Payton to the rescue.

-- Baltimore hit one grand slam last year, allowed twelve.

    -- Nick Markakis hit .336 from June 1-August 31.

-- Orioles didn't miss BJ Ryan much; new closer Ray saved 33 of his 38 chances.

Friday's List of 13: Contemplating life on a frigid Friday....

      13) NFL free agency starts today; some notables got walking their papers Thursday: Joe Horn, Drew Bledsoe, Joey Porter and Brandon Stokely. Teams have lot of cap room, so figure on some lucky guys getting overpaid, in part because teams didn't want to pay these guys, and cut them.

      12) Jerry Glanville is back on the mainland, as head coach of Portland State, where Mouse Davis made his Run-and-Shoot famous when Neil Lomax played there. Glanville had been the defensive coordinator at Hawai'i.

      11) There is racehorse at Beulah Park named Four Acres that has a career record of 0-for-61; he lost to horse Monday that had a career record of 0-for-13.

      10) Seth Smith is a minor leaguer with the Rockies; he played college ball at Ole Miss, where he was also the seldom-used backup QB to Eli Manning.

      9) The best two conference tournaments to visit in person: Mountain West in Las Vegas, Atlantic 14 in Atlantic City.

      8) Part of the genius of the job Tony Bennett is doing out at Washington State is that he has lengthened his rotation as the season went on, adding sophomores Baynes, Hopson.

      7) Memo to ESPN: When scheduling Big Monday games next season, keep in mind that Big West games are more fun than WCC games. WCC teams haven't ridden coattails of Gonzaga the way Big West teams did with UNLV in late 80's.

      6) As of January 1, 2009, square-grooved golf clubs will not be allowed on the PGA Tour, which will hurt players' chances of spinning the ball with short irons.

      5) Bitter loss for second-seeded High Point in the Big South; they thought they had legit chance to upset Winthrop in the final Saturday; one problem, they lost in the semis, to VMI, which plays the fastest-paced games of anyone in country.

      4) North Carolina is 4-4 on the road in the ACC. Go figure.

      3) OK, I can hear sleet hitting the window as I type this, so a significant amount of icing will occur tonight, which means it is important to think warm, to think of baseball. Once again, as an A's fan, it was sad to see Barry Zito pitch for the Giants Thursday. Just another guy who bolted for the money, which is what they should do, but it sucks for fans.

      2) Diamondbacks' new uniforms look exactly like the ones the Astros wear at home on Sundays.

      1) If I was a Met fan, I'd be seriously concerned with pitching and who the New Yorkers wheel out to start games. It isn't a championship staff, not even close.

Atlanta Hawks at Washington Wizards (7 PM ET)
Washington guard Gilbert Arenas suffered through a 3-for-18 performance against the Heat Wednesday night. Over his last three games, Arenas is shooting 21.5 percent from the field and is 4-for-31 from behind the arc. EDGE: HAWKS
The Wizards, who rank fourth in the NBA with 104.9 points per game, are averaging 92 during their current four-game skid. EDGE: UNDER
Atlanta has lost nine of the last 10 meetings with Washington. BIG EDGE: WIZARDS
The UNDER is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Washington.

Detroit Pistons at Miami Heat (ESPN | 8 PM ET)
Center Shaquille O'Neal was a big factor in Miami's six-game victory over Detroit in the playoffs last year, averaging 21.7 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks. His presence could mean even more in a rematch this season because the Pistons may be more vulnerable inside without Ben Wallace. EDGE: HEAT
The Pistons are 15-4 since acquiring Chris Webber after he was let go by Philadelphia. EDGE: PISTONS
Detroit ranks second in the NBA in assists-to-turnover at a ratio of 1.74. The Pistons also rank first in the NBA in fewest turnovers committed. Last season, Detroit led the NBA in both categories. EDGE: PISTONS
At 17-9, the Pistons are the only Eastern Conference team with a winning road record. Detroit went 10-1 during the month of February and has held nine of its last 12 opponents to 90 points or less. EDGE: PISTONS & UNDER
The Pistons are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings.
The UNDER is 5-0 in the last five meetings in Miami.

Orlando Magic at San Antonio Spurs (8 PM ET)
San Antonio has rattled off a season-high six straight wins and owns the third-best record in the Western Conference. The Spurs are averaging 100.7 points during their winning streak while holding opponents to 83.5. BIG EDGE: SPURS
The Spurs have won 15 of 18 all-time home meetings with the Magic but have dropped three of the last four. SLIGHT EDGE: MAGIC
The Magic are playing the third in a tough four-game road trip, which concludes in Dallas on Saturday. The team has dropped 15 of its last 18 away from home. EDGE: SPURS
The Spurs are 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 games playing on three or more days of rest.

New Orleans Hornets at Chicago Bulls (8:30 PM ET)
This game marks the return of former Chicago center Tyson Chandler, who is having a break-out season with the Hornets. Chandler averaged 13.2 points, 16.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in February, easily better numbers than the man who replaced him - Ben Wallace. EDGE: HORNETS
The Bulls won the first meeting thanks to a huge game from Andres Nocioni, who scored a game-high 31 points and grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds. Nocioni could miss the rest of the regular season with plantar fasciitis in his right foot and will be sorely missed against the Hornets. EDGE: HORNETS
New Orleans is 17-7 ATS in the last 24 games.
Road team is 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings.

                              Milwaukee at Toronto
Milwaukee has played better since the return of Michael Redd, but runs into a buzz saw tonight in Toronto. The Raptors closed out their best February in franchise history (9-3) with a 106-90 pounding of Houston on Wednesday. Toronto continued to be hot on the offensive end, hitting 57.1 percent from the field to run its record to 14-0 when shooting better than 50 percent. Along with the solid play of Chris Bosh, rookie Andrea Bargnani has picked up his game by averaging 15.8 points and shooting better than 50 percent from three-point range over his last nine games. The Bucks have won two straight, but the wins came at home against relatively low-rated Golden State and Philadelphia. Going on the road at Toronto is another matter and the Raptors look like a good pick to cover the Vegas line (-5 1/2) according to Dunkel, which has Toronto favored by 15. Dunkel Pick: Toronto (-5 1/2). Here are all of today's games.
