I know that this has been discussed here many times,,,and that I have been bashed for my opinion, but I always buy the hook, and I know that I am in the positive because of my strategy. I pushed this game, and I will be glad to take my wager back,,sorry that you lost TMac.Let's Hammer the Book.

Yes it's been discussed many times. With all due respect it's not a good strategy especially in basketball with much more scoring. You are laying -120 in half the games you bet. Short term a bettor might have a 'lucky' run of pushes from the buy.Originally posted by DBURGH

I've posted 75 NBA plays going 43-31-1 +2980 ($100 per Unit). Of those 75 games, 32 were played with the hook. If I bought the hook and layed -120 in all 32 games my betting profit would have been reduced to $2892. It would have cost me $88 of profit. I'm hitting 58% of my posted plays. The damage is greater as the winning percentage decreases.
I realize nothing I post will change your mind or the opinions of others when it comes to this topic. But please don't post it's a good strategy when it is mathematically impossible unless you're hitting 67%Comment
