  • Anybody Look At Meija's Picks On Cbssportsline?

This guy is horrible. Each day he posts his prediction on the final score of nba and ncaa games. He posts them late sometimes (after the 12:00 games have started). It's easy to pick winners on those games when you see the starts of them. Also, he predicts around 70% each year for them. The problem is he's picking them SU, not ATS!!! I can do that, and so can anybody! If you pick every favorite you'll nail 70% easy! The funny thing for today is he has the final score for the Rhode Island/Duquesne game at 68-64 Rhode Island. Are you kidding me????? If he was a true sports anylist, wouldn't he see there is going to ba A LOT more point than that??? Ray Charles could see that!!!! I can't believe this guy has that job! Maybe they should just hire one of us! Let me know if any of you ever look at his predictions and give me your feedback!

My rating system is as follows:

    1-10 units on plays typically
20+ on extremely hot picks, goy, etc. (VERY rare)
    ---------------------------------------------------
    LAST SEASON:

    CBB 75-42-4 +142.6 UNITS ($14260) YEAH BABY!!!

    NFL 1-0 +1 UNITS ($100)

    NBA 49-30-4 +93.2 UNITS ($9320)

I used to spend time on that chat board and I was amazed at the number of people that ripped him for his picks. If anyone actually thinks he sits down and caps every game every single day of the CBB season (4 months long), I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell them. It is a computer simulation program that they post under his name. If you were to see him in a bar today, he would probably have no idea who he picks.

And to answer your next question (if that is the case, why would he put his name on it)...well, you go to the site to look every day, don't you?

A few season ago (2003/2004) Coverboy and I did very well play the dogs in games that Mejia projected as the winner. The next season that system started slowly. We stopped following. Historically, he projected 70% winners. Again, I'm not sure how he's done the past couple of seasons.

exactly, Frank...that is what I used him for but had gotten away from it. Had to be a dog of 3 points or more that he picked outright.

If you took all his NBA picks yesterday either straight or parleyed them on the moneyline, you would have went 7-0...
If you think picking ML winners were that easy, you'd play parlay, which I usually do.

I don't look at his picks much. I mainly looked at them to see if he was really any good. I see way too many games that he loses when the spread is tight. Anybody can pick the heavy favorites to win outright, but it takes a true handicapper to pick winners on tight spread games. From what I've seen, he is NOT good on ncaa games with a tight spread. He is better on nba than ncaa. Sometimes he picks heavy favs to win and cover the spread, and then some. A lot of times he nails them. But other than that, I think he is garbage. And I'm sure he doesn't actually cap all those games. There must be some computer generated scores on there. Today his Rhode Island/Duquesne game total was off by 66 points. That'a bad when you end up that far from a total. His ncaa totals are usually WAY off. I would recommend nobody ever use them, for reference

I like using his pick for dog winner.

Most of the time he is correct.

yeah this kat Meija is hard at work late into the nite capping the score of monmouth vs. st francis and so on.. just a computer program picks that do not care about degenerate gamblers.

If my name were on it, I would at least look at the comp. simulation and adjust the lines accordingly. The main thing is people don't use his ncaa picks and totals. If anything, go the other way.

I agree. On Saturday's there's over 100 games. Does one really think he caps all 100 games? I'll bet most college hoop fans couldn't hit 70% SU.
