  • Durant -vs- Oden

Im a bit biased, since Im in Houston and see Durant more often, but just wanted opinions from ya on these players...
Who will get drafted first? Who should get drafted first? Which has more upside? Who will have a better career? Etc, etc...

Im thinking Oden goes first strictly because he plays the 5 and good big men are so rare, but feel Durant is and will be a better player...

Durant needs to put on some more weight. Oden already looks like a veteran with his beard and such. He looks like a 40 year old man. Both are very impressive players. As far as being drafted first, I believe Oden will simply because of the powering center as you stated. The only problem with Oden is he does not defend well away from the basket, hence the Michigan State game where they had a few picks on him and he didn't pick up the player. This happened about three times in a row. I think Oden is a bit overrated myself about all the media and such, while Durant is sooo smooth.

If you talk numbers against each other of course it will be Durant but if you compare them to others at their position i say Oden.

I'm a Celtics fan and they have a shot at the number 1 pick. Everyone up here (me included) is calling it the "Oden Lottery". FSN's local sports show always talks about the race to get Oden as well. 7 Foot Center's with his upside are just so rare.

I agree, hard to pass up a talented 7 footer like Oden. I had heard good things of Durant coming into this season, but dont think anyone expected him to perform this well. The kid is just playing GREAT and putting up monster numbers, I dont see anyway he stays another year.

Depends on what your team needs.....Oden bigger and stronger, right now, but if someone beefs up Durant, I think in the long run, he will fare better.....

He's one of the most gifted B"Ball players, I've ever seen in my life.......and I'm 65.........IMO----kapt

The game Durant played against Texas Tech absolutely amazed me. Best single game performance I have ever seen. I agree though that it depends on what your team needs and that Durant needs to put on about 25-30 lbs. Durant will put on the weight with no problem though.

With his frame I also dont see a problem with him putting on the weight...so should that make him the 1st overall pick...

I think it will be Oden but both are awesome. Oden does look like hes 40 and I am curious to see him full strength with a right hand that he can shoot with.

I thought there was a new rule that kids have to got to college before the NBA now? I thought it was the full 4 years, so is it just manditory for 1 minimum then?
