Interesting Trend

I don't have any numbers to back this trend so let me begin with that. It seems in the NBA when the dog covers the first half the favorite covers the second half and vice versa. I don't know the percentage but it hit in both games last night and has been hitting. Just some info.

Well I am pretty sure that Ind and Phi both covered the 1st half line. Based on this trend, 2nd half would be LA +1 and GS -1.

I can't do it because the linesmaker adjusts the 2nd half line. Unlike the 1st half line which a usually half the game line the 2nd half line is determined by the half time score as well as the game line. I don't have 2nd half lines.


I can report:

Dogs who are covering at half time with 1/2 the game line are 4507-1903 ATS 70.3% for the game. Whereas, if the dog is leading at HT on the scoreboard they cover the line 74.8%



I don't bet 2nd half games. If someone give me an understanding how the 2nd half lines are set I can try to do some analysis. I've noticed if the favorite is losing at half time the 2nd half line is about the same as the deficit. Meaning the favorite has to come back and win the game to cover the 2nd half spread.

Sorry just got home well I know that GS covered the 2nd half and Lakers did not. I know that the line was -1 Chicago for the 1st half and they did not cover but they covered 2nd half -2. But I also know that this system did not follow for the Boston, Cle, Orl and I am sure some other games, Maybe 50%. Will track more acvcurately beginning Monday.
