Guys,
These are my plays for tonight's NBA.....
2 STAR: TORONTO (-4.5) over Washington
Tough spot here for the Wizards. They have to travel north of the border to face a rested Raptors team after a big win against the Pistons last night. The Wizards have not fared well in these spots this season as Washington is only 2-7 against the spread in the second of back to back games and they will be without Antoine Jamison who is having an MRI on his knee for this game. Toronto has had three days to rest since their 18 points loss to the Pacers, and the Raptors are 6-0 against the spread in their last six games following a straight up loss of 10 points or more and they are also 12-5 against the spread in their last 17 home games. Chris Bosh and company should get the win and cover here, lay the points!
2 STAR: MILWAUKEE (+8.5) over Orlando
You just can't lay points with the Magic right now. Orlando is only 8-22-1 against the spread in their last 31 games as a favorite and it doesn't get any better against bad teams as they are only 5-12-1 against the spread in their last 18 home games versus a team with a losing road record. The Bucks are banged up, but guard Mo Williams has returned to the lineup. After having their ass handed to them last night, I expect Williams, Boykins and Bogut to help the Bucks hang around in this game. This is the second game of a back to back for Milwaukee, but they are 5-0 against the spread in the second game of their last five back to backs. The Bucks have dominated this series as they are 8-2 against the spread in the last 10 meetings. Take the points!
2 STAR: DENVER (-3) over Portland
The NBA is all about match ups. Denver has owned this match up. The Nuggets have won eight straight games against the Blazers and nine out of ten. Portland always falls into the trap of trying to run with the Nuggets, but they don't have the firepower to keep up. The Nuggets have averaged 108 points per game to Portland's 96 points per game in their last nine wins against the Blazers. In the Blazers only win against Denver they won a 97-94 game. Portland fell into an up-tempo game with the Nuggets just a few weeks ago which was a 109-93 Portland home loss. I expect the young Portland point guards Jarret Jack and Brandon Roy to fall into this up-tempo style of play again tonight. Having lost three straight games the Nuggets need a win bad and they should get it here even with AI out tonight, as Denver is 6-1 against the spread in their last seven road games versus a team with a losing home record and they are 9-2-1 against the spread in the last twelve meetings in Portland. Lay the points!
