Hi guys, hope everyone is doing well! These are my college plays for tonight.....

5 STAR: HOFSTRA (+2) over Virginia Commonwealth

Virginia Commonwealth is undefeated in conference play, but I look for that to come to an end tonight against Hofstra. The Pride got caught looking ahead to this game and lost on the road 68-72 against Delaware, but they will be ready to play tonight. This is the biggest game of the season for Hofstra. The game will take place at Hofstra Arena, where the Pride has won its last 25 regular season games. This game will be decided by the guard play, and I think the Hofstra guards step up big tonight. The Pride are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games as a home underdog and the home team has won six straight meetings and nine out of the last ten. I look for that trend to continue tonight, take the points!

5 STAR: UTAH (+1.5) over BYU

This is a tough spot for BYU to be laying points. BYU is only 1-6 against the spread on the road this season and this is a let down spot for the Cougars who are coming off of a huge home win against Air Force. Just as the Air Force game was huge for BYU, this game is huge for Utah. It will be tough for the Cougars to match the intensity of the Utes here tonight. Utah owns BYU. The Utes have nine straight up wins in a row at home against BYU and they are 17-5 overall against the Cougars the last seven years. Utah is 7-3 against the spread as an underdog this season and they have won their last two home games against Air Force and Wyoming. This is where they salvage the season by beating their hated rival. Take the points!

3 STAR: OHIO (-4.5) over Toledo

Toledo has won and covered the spread in seven straight games and they are 7-0 in conference play, but I look for that to come to an end here tonight. The Rockets are only 3-7-2 against the spread in their last 12 games against teams with a winning percentage of 60% or better. And the Rockets have not seen any competition even close to what the Bobcats will bring tonight in conference play so far. That's why the Rockets are 7-0 in the conference thus far. The Ohio Bobcats are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games as a home favorite and 20-7 against the spread in their last 27 home games against a team with a losing road record. Lay the points here!

3 STAR: FLORIDA (-14) over Vanderbilt

If this doesn't look like a trap, I don't know what does! Vandy has been on a roll! They upset then #16 Tennessee on January 10th and #10 Alabama on January 17th at home and followed with victories at #25 Kentucky on January 20th and at #21 LSU just four days later. Their latest win was an 85-80 road win at Mississippi and now they are catching 14 points at Florida? That smells like Gator bait to me! After back to back road games, the #1 ranked Gators return home for a game it has been waiting months for. "I think when we play Vanderbilt, everybody comes to play," forward Corey Brewer said. "This is a game we all circle on our calendar." Vanderbilt has not seen the defense and depth that Florida has to offer yet this season. Vanderbilt is hitting a league best 10.5 3 pointers per game but I think they will struggle here against the Florida defense. Florida is 7-1 against the spread in their last eight home games and they are 5-1 against the spread in the last six meetings with Vandy. Lay the points!

    3 STAR: GONZAGA (+4)
    over Stanford

This is a very dangerous sandwich game for newly ranked Stanford. The Cardinals have been playing great ball with back to back conference wins against USC and UCLA, and they travel to play their arch rival California on Saturday. This could be a very flat letdown spot here against Gonzaga. The Zags have played a brutal schedule this season, so the atmosphere will not be a problem for them. Gonzaga had to be gassed by the rough early schedule that they played with numerous trips to the east coast, but they seem to have got the legs back and have won six out of their last seven games. This could be the big win that gets them back on track this season. Stanford is 0-3 against the spread this season as a home favorite of 3.5 to 6 points this season and just 2-7 against the spread in the last nine games in this role. Take the points!

    Good luck,
    John
