                Toronto at Indiana
Toronto reached the .500 mark (22-22) last night with a win over Boston, the latest the team has been this high this late in a season since February of 2004. Indianapolis vs. Chicago
There's a sense of relief for both teams simply making it to the Super Bowl. Indianapolis was able to finally get past New England in a big game with Peyton Manning delivering in the clutch. Chicago, after starting the season in a fashion that had people talking about a perfect season, was able to overcome a mid-season slump and Rex Grossman's erratic play to get its first playoff wins since 1995. Moreover both come into the game excelling at what they do best. The Colts' offense was unstoppable in the second half against New England, piling up 455 yards and scoring on six of their final eight drives to overcome an 18-point halftime deficit. The Bears' defense put the clamps on the much-publicized New Orleans ground attack, limiting Deuce McCallister and Reggie Bush to 37 rushing yards combined and 14 points. The big change for both will be leaving the home fields for Miami. Few teams played better at home than Indianapolis (10-0), but the road was a different story. Prior to the Colts' postseason win at Baltimore, they had lost four straight away from home, including a 44-17 setback in Jacksonville in Week 14. Chicago, by comparison, lost only once away from Soldier Field and that came by just four points at New England (17-13) in Week 12. The Bears are listed as a 7-point Vegas underdog, but that looks too high according to Dunkel, which has the game even. Dunkel Pick: Chicago (+7).

                          Six-Pack for Saturday

Denver-Utah game Friday night was like a college game; very intense, just a terrific game to watch.

Think about the west in the NBA: Suns-Dallas-Nuggets- Lakers-Spurs-Jazz-Rockets. Three really good teams aren't even going to win one playoff series out there.

In other words, I'm saying there are seven teams in west better than any team in the east.

If Pat Riley watched Jamal Crawford torch Miami for 52 Friday night, his newly-replaced hip just got a little worse, and his knee probably isn't as good, either. .

Washington is almost as much fun to watch as the Suns, but those gold jerseys look like something out of classic hoop movie, The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh.

I watched little bit of Atlanta-Orlando game; is there any sports team in America more obscure than the Hawks? I mean, the Milwaukee Brewers are household names when you put them up next to Zaza Pachulia and his mates.

                            Saturday's List of 13:

                            College hoop random thoughts

                            13) Ole Miss (#85) has worst RPI in SEC; there are four teams in Big East whose RPI is #142 or lower.

                            12) Surprisingly high RPIs: Southern Illinois (10), UNLV (13), Appalachian State (44)

                            11) Kudos to former Evansville coach Jim Crews, who has Army at 13-8, in middle of pack in Patriot League. Not an easy place to win, in fact, lot of people think its impossible.

                            10) If Big East tournament started right now, UConn wouldn't be in it; only 12 of 16 teams make it, and Huskies are currently 13th. I'd be surprised if they missed it, but they're struggling.

                            9) Most Big 11 can hope for is five teams in tourney: Ohio St Wisconsin, Indiana and both Michigan schools.

8.) Marist-Loyola-Manhattan are all 7-2 in MAAC; problem for league is, Loyola and Jaspers are combined 7-13 out of conference. Marist (#115) has league's best RPI.

                            7) Illinois State (3-7), Drake (2-8) trail the Missouri Valley, but those two teams are combined 17-5 out of conference; Drake beat Iowa by 18.

                            6) America East has better RPI than MAAC, but Vermont, Albany are only two teams in league with winning percentage better than .450.

                            5) SEC East already has seven-game edge over the SEC West Auburn is 3-3, and leads its division.

                            4) Rhode Island (6-1) is unlikely leader in A-14, which looks like one-bid league.

                            3) The post-Majerus era isn't going well at Utah. Utes are 7-12 8th in nine-team Mountain West, only team in league under .500 overall. With Utah Valley State sitting at 13-6, wouldn't be surprised if Dick Hunsaker's name comes up in Ute rumors. Hunsaker was once an interim coach for Utah when Majerus was ill, and had to miss a season.

                            2) Arizona has the #3 RPI; problem is, they're in sixth place in Pac-10. They could use a win over the Tar Heels Saturday.

                            1) Texas A&M's RPI is 24, Florida's 25; if there are 23 teams in country better than those two, please tell me where they've been hiding, because they haven't been on my satellite dish.
