  • NBA Fans must be nuts.

The player most deserving of this years MVP Dirk Nowisiski is not even a starter. I would not trade him for Garnett ever.

The West is so loaded it's sickening. Now A.I. isn't even in the East. It's Wade, James & alot of praying ...

Voting Shaq to start in the all-star game is the primary reason fans should not have a vote. Don't give me the BS it's who the fans want to see play. Does anyone actually watch this game? It's a popularity contest not an all-star contest.

All All Star games are ridiculous. The MLB has to have a player from every team. Huh? What if the team is horrible? Nope, one still goes and they say it is so the "City" is represented. A fan of Baseball living in the City of a horrible team is going to watch with or without one mediocre player of theirs sitting on the bench. Still the most ridiculous argument ever and actual All Stars ALWAYS get snubbed because of that rule. It is also a clear popularity contest. Small cities are screwed when the big ones stuff the ballot box. As much as i like Cal Ripken, the guy was average at best at the end of his career and still kept getting the starter's votes when he shouldn't have even made the team!

Very true. Does anyone watch any all star game anymore. In my teens I used to watch and look forward to baseball's all star game. I haven't watched an inning let alone an entire all star game in 15 years. NFL should elect players to the pro bowl but not play the game. I don't think I've ever watch an NBA all star game. NHL's all star game was the best. It allowed the players to show off their amazing talent. IMO NHL hockey players are the most underrated athletes in all of sports.

Frank, That is so true. I've played basketball, football, baseball & golf. I've never played hockey and i have no clue how to Ice Skate. I think hockey is without a doubt the toughest sport to play, therefore, the athletes that can do it (especially at the NHL level) are amazing. Most have god given legs and feet and are able to shoot a hoop, swing a bat or swing a club but i would guess that 70% or more in this country have no clue how to ice skate and are eliminated from ever playing/connecting to hockey. I think that plays in to it's limited popularity too compared to the other major sports. I think it is a big factor. Watching most people struggle to stand on those things then watching what these guys do with them on is about as skilled as it gets (IMO).

Haven't watched any all star games in years. Back when I was a kid I'd watch the baseball all star games because that was the only chance to see many of the stars play since my parents never had cable. Now with all the games on cable it doesn't mean anything and you can see any team play now. Now most players would rather not be voted to the all star team and have the extra days off instead unless he has a clause in his contract getting a bonus for making the team.

Growing up on Long Island hockey was my favorite sport to play and watch. I grew up playing hockey. I played till my mid-30s. I quit playing after having my second daughter. This dad couldn't risk getting hurt against 20-something punks. Some of the players, in the leagues I played, were getting nasty. They wouldn't hesitate to hit you over the head with a stick.
