  • MLB Future Wagers

Do you guys think making a "Future" wager is a smart thing to do right now? My local doesn't offer it but i like to bet on a few team win totals each year. I would have to do it through my offshore book and my question is this. Is it worth doing, not knowing where any of these books are going to be come October? Even if you get your money back, is it worth leaving those wagers pending for months and hoping it works out if something happens? I've been going over the teams and it came to me that maybe i shouldn't bother. Do any of you that bet future's think it would be smart to stay away or are you going to bet them anyway?

I was wondering the same thing.Wanted to put some $$$ on Tony Stewart to win the cup but that bet wont pay out until November 10 months from now. So i really dont knowwhat i am going to do myself but i think its risky. But who cares we are gamblers right. We take chances most fols would not even think of.

        Hey Wayne,
Been loking and thinking same thing. As my dad used to tell me, if something does not feel right and you are not sure, that should answer your question right there. I work hard for my money and do not want to get screwed somehow (as the government has their ways). Going to ride the wave and let the chips fall as they may. I used to work in Washington D.C. for the ***** Dept. and where there is smoke ther is fire. Best of luck on your decision.

I agree. I'm a gambler but i'm not sure i'm willing to place a wager knowing i may never get paid for it. Same applies to Nascar. I was also going to bet Stewart on a futures wager but .......

There are too many other good things for you to spend your money on. Like I said, I'm hoping things settle down but it feels like the quiet before the storm to me. I still have some friends in Washington but can't get shit out of them (which actually scares me more).

At the exponential rate that all of the industry VIPs are crashing down ( Pinny, NeTeller), I consider my Super Bowl plays as future bets. As much as I love futures wagers, I consider them the same as a losing wager at this point, i.e. too iffy to play.

I can't imagine anybody other than a local being in biz by the time the Fall Classic comes around.
You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.
