Well the title should alert you as to which teams I am on for this weekend. Realizing that many of you have yet to jump on the Gator Bandwagon - and will look elsewhere for your picks- it still serves a purpose to give you Mondays Headlines.
Chicago and New England
Gaffney and Grossman- 2 G-men (Gators) that will play integral parts of their NFL Teams reaching the Super Bowl.
Why NE?
Indy and New England seemed to be on a similar mission- They both sense they deserve the Holy Grail due to their past honors and present positions in the playoffs and will be hard pressed to relinquish it. These teams know each other quite well and offense with Brady and Manning at the controls should provide our best game of the day.
In my opinion, NE will hound Manning into mistakes, take a lead and place Vinateri out of the picture and on the sidelines by having Indy play from behind. BellyChick does not want another come from behind type game as was the picture in San Diego. He will emphasise the need to get on top early, and this will be his best chance to defeat Indy.
Notes:Indianapolis needs to force Brady into turnovers by limiting his time and rushing his throws," stated Gonzalez. "A shootout will favor the Colts, while a defensive dogfight gives an advantage to the Patriots."
The Patriots are a stellar 8-1 SU and ATS on the road this season that includes a 4-0 ATS ledger as a road ‘dog. The Patriots are 12-1 in the postseason under head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. The Colts are 9-0 SU and 6-3 ATS at home, being favored in all nine of their RCA Dome contests.
New England safety Rodney Harrison is ‘questionable’ against the Colts due to a knee injury. Indianapolis wide receiver Marvin Harrison (wrist) and running back Joseph Addai (shoulder) are ‘probable’ versus the Patriots, while wide receiver Ricky Proehl (hamstring) is ‘questionable.’
Brady was 27-of-51 passing for 280 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions, while his favorite target was wideout Jabar Gaffney who caught 10passes for 103 yards and a score. Running back Kevin Faulk led an anemic ground game with six carries for 25 yards.
Why Chicago?
New Orleans against New England in the Super Bowl- Huh - Not a bad story line. I just feel the Gators will shine once again and Grossman has an exceptional game. While I would really like to see the magic of Brees and Bush enter into a New Era of New Super Bowl Fame that would give the City some recognition and be the top story for quite awhile- I can't see this team traveling to Da Bears Country and winning in the 4th Qtr. The weather outside is frightful and the the fans are sooo-oo delightful - since there is no place to go---Let it snow --Let it snow -- Let it snow. -- Well it will be cold and some players are going to get hurt today. I like Chicago's Running attack in this game as well.
