Its strange you post that Cubby game , as I was going to throw-out a few stats there ;
Astros - Redding - 3.73 era ;
While on the surface a era like that indicates a fairly good pitcher , but look closer [ its our job ] and one notices a dispairity in his stats . He shows a 1.42 daytime era while allowing only .250 against him at home [ but home hes not ] on the other hand while on the road and at nite theres quite a change , 4.70 era and a .321 batting avg. against him .
His battery mate on the Cubs Zambrano want to be included in that stable [ Prior & Wood ] and has shown some very good stuff as of late !
Pick = Im all over your selection ! [ but a few more units ]
you raise a good point in your Cubs/Astros match-up
but you can also look at the fact that Houston is 14-8 in their past 22 games in Chicago - - which translates in +5.7 units
they are 31-14 in their last 45 games in Chicago
In Tim reddings last 3 starts he has a WHIP of 0.84 compared to Zambrano's 1.33. These are 2 very hot pitchers, but I will pass on the Cubs offense tonight again:D
Houston has hit righties better this season (albeit only percentage points higher)
Zambrano is 2-2 lifetime against the Astros
Redding is 2-1 lifetime against the Cubs
Mr. PostMan, will take a shot with the SStros, plus money
If you have Freddy Garcia sporting an 0-3 record and a 9.55 ERA in his last 3 starts while Halladay on the other hand, has won 15 out of his last 16 starts and a 2-1 record with a crisp 3.24 ERA in his last 3 starts; my question is how in the hell can you make this a pick'em game in Las Vegas????????
Looks just too damn easy to play Toronto.......
This has suckers line all over it.
And as always G.L. , but did Redding post those numbers during the day ? as I am curious to know ?
As far as offense the Cubs are offensive so we agree there , but the feeling here is that Zam-Bam puts the cuffs on those Astros as well , also since Im not posting plays on my on thread today I favor the under here also [ 2 ** ] at 7 .
And add one more SMALL advantage to the Cubs.....Zambrano can hit which does make it 9 vs. 8 for most of the game even though the Cubs have not been scoring a ton. He is not the automatic sacrifice it needed to swing the bat. Gv
I am NOT schizophrenic......and NEITHER am I! Just paranoid that fear may overcome my insanity!
