  • Dumb Statistical Question

Both the New Orleans/Eagles game and the Bears/Seahawks game ended at exactly the same score 27-24 with the home team winning in each game.
Maybe Frank or anyone statistically minded can give me an approximation of what the chances are of two CONSECUTIVE playoff games ending with the same score and the home team winning.
I know this is a guess at best, but I am curious if it would be in the range of 1000/1, 10000/1, 100000/1 or even higher.
    All guesses are welcome.
Remember the odds are for two CONSECUTIVE playoff games.
I myself have no idea, but for the sake of guess will say between 10000 and 20000 -1.

I think Phil Steele picked these exact scores, and winners in the correct order. He said the odds were even money.

LOl. the only sure thing (Lock) is that Phil's/NC's revenues and customers are going to decrease by about 75% next season.

Can you imagine if San Diego had tied it and then won on a field goal in overtime-it would be another 27-24 game.
I wonder what the odds of THREE consecutive 27-24 games would be with the home team winning.

Based on previous NFL history including regular season two home 27-24 victories is 8/100,000
