Seattle Seahawks at Chicago Bears
(FOX | 1 PM ET)

• The goal of the Chicago offense will be to simplify the gameplan for embattled QB Rex Grossman and rely on the team's strong running game, led by Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson. The duo rushed for a combined 1,857 yards and scored 12 touchdowns during the regular season. Bears fans should also take comfort in the fact that Grossman has posted back-to-back bad games just once, rebounding to complete 66 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and just one interception the other three times after he had poor games. EDGE: BEARS

• Rookie All-Pro kick returner Devin Hester could very well be the difference for the Bears in this game against a depleted Seattle team. Hester set an NFL record with six returns for touchdowns this season, and experts have pointed out that the Seahawks have literally had to bring in special teams players off the street due to numerous injuries. Dallas return man Miles Austin returned a kickoff last week 93 yards against them, proving this weakness. BIG EDGE: BEARS

• The Bears have lost their last two home divisional playoff games and have not won a playoff game in more than 10 years. However, the weather in Chicago was unseasonably mild in both of their previous home playoff games, and freezing temperatures are expected for Sunday. EDGE: BEARS

• Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck simply hasn't been the same player since returning from a sprained knee suffered earlier in the season. Hasselbeck has thrown 10 interceptions in seven games since coming back from the injury and has 17 picks in 13 games overall. "We've been careless with the football all season - he has way more interceptions then he should, being as bright as he is and understanding our system now the way he understands it," Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren said. "I think by his own admission he would say he tries to do too much." EDGE: BEARS

• Seattle is 1-8-1 ATS last 10 vs. NFC opponents.

• San Diego head coach Marty Schottenheimer has lost five straight playoff games and has had three teams in the last 11 years earn first-round byes only to lose to a lower-seeded opponent. EDGE: PATRIOTS

• The Patriots will be without safety Rodney Harrison for the rest of the playoffs after it was discovered he has a slightly torn ACL. Harrison is a former Charger who is infamous for his hard hits, and New England's defense could definitely use him against one of the biggest receiving corps in the NFL, led by All-Pro tight end Antonio Gates. EDGE: CHARGERS

• Belichick will likely give NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson his yardage and try to limit him inside the Red Zone, where he has been the most dangerous. LT set the NFL single-season record for touchdowns with 31 and rushed for 217 yards and two TDs the last time these teams met in San Diego back on September 29th, 2002. EDGE: CHARGERS

• San Diego QB Philip Rivers has led the team to a perfect home record at 8-0 and 10 straight wins overall, leading to Pro Bowl honors. However, this will be his first career playoff game compared to New England's Tom Brady, who owns three Super Bowl rings yet was snubbed for the Pro Bowl in favor of Rivers. Look for Brady to use that as motivation against his inexperienced foe. EDGE: PATRIOTS

• The Patriots have won four straight both SU & ATS going into this game while the Chargers have failed to cover four of their last six.

• OVER is 9-3 in San Diego's last 12 games.

Seahawks @ Bears-- Seattle lost 37-6 at Soldier Field in Week 4, getting outrushed 143-77, converting only 4-16 on third down and averaging just 3.6 yds/pass attempt. Holmgren always had great success vs Bears when he was with Green Bay. Seahawks had three-game losing streak last month, not sure they're up to a road win in playoffs, even though Grossman's horrible play has Bear fans calling for backup Griese to play. After winning first four home games by average of 38-8, Bears split the last four.

Patriots @ Chargers-- This is only Patriots' second visit here in last decade; they lost 21-14 back in '02. Chargers also hammered Pats 41-17 in Foxboro LY. Main focus here is Marty's 5-12 career mark in playoff games, and Rivers making first career playoff start vs QB, coach with three Super Bowl titles. Patriots are 7-1 away from home, losing only at Miami, which was their last loss, five weeks ago. Chargers haven't lost since Oct. 22, winning ten in a row; they're 8-0 at home, 5-3 vs spread as a home favorite.

Oregon at Arizona
Oregon has had success this season in knocking off some of the bigger names in college basketball. The Ducks served notice back in November when they beat Georgetown on the road (57-50). And they cemented their reputation as a top-tier team with a win over then-unbeaten UCLA (68-66) last Saturday. Aaron Brooks has consistently come up big as he combined for 56 points in back-to-back games against USC and UCLA, including the game-winner against the Bruins. But there is plenty of balance as five Ducks average in double figures. Today the Ducks get a huge challenge as they travel to Arizona to face a Wildcats team that is 9-0 at McHale Center. That home-court dominance has pushed the Vegas line up to 8, which is high considering the Ducks are 5-0 in road or neutral site games. The return of Chris Bosh has sparked the Raptors as Toronto has gone 4-2 since the All-Star's return with one of those losses coming by just two points (100-98) against higher-rated Phoenix. Bosh himself has been fantastic as he has averaged 25.5 points in the four wins. Today the Raptors host Dallas, which has beaten Toronto in six straight and 12 of their last 14 meetings, including a 117-98 win back on November 29. The Mavs also come in having won 16 of their last 17 overall. This one is a close call, but the Vegas line favoring Dallas (-5) looks a tad too high according to Dunkel, which has Dallas favored by 4 1/2. Dunkel Pick: Toronto (+5). Minnesota at Chicago
Minnesota comes into the contest having won two straight road games and six straight against the Blackhawks. The Wild had lost 11 straight road games before the current streak, but have been helped by the return of Marian Gaborik, who missed 34 games with a groin injury. Gaborik recorded his second straight two-goal game in a 4-2 win over Edmonton on Friday and now has eight goals and 11 points in 11 games this season. Chicago, meanwhile, has dropped five straight, including a 6-3 loss yesterday in Detroit.
