    Red Sox

    Memphis-the crystal ball has no opinion on Red Sox?
    Well here is mine from someone who has followed Sox for 51 years;I am either going to be right or way off-no in between.
    After fizzling against Baltimore, I think Sox are going to win 3 out of 4 from Oakland(no I am sober) or if I am wrong will lose 3-4 or get swept;this will not be a 2-2 series.
    I have a feeling you probably think it more likely Sox will lose 3-4.

      I usually dont shy away from opinions but this series could be a backbreaker for either club.

      1st game - Tim Hudson vs. Pedro Martinez

      2nd game - Barry Zito vs. John Burkett

      3rd game - Mark Mulder vs. Derek Lowe

      4th game - Ted Lilly vs. Tim Wakefield

      [ not counting a 3 game set at Fenway starting tues. of next week ]

      I in my humble opinion think that Oakland could lose the 2nd. , and maybe the 4th. , I guess I give to much credence to pitching vs. hitting . But in no way does my money management allow me to take shots that have no strong indicators in my favor and I see nothing here that jumps out at me other than the amount of runs that could be scored by both teams that I could use to wager on.

      1st. and 3rd games I would lean towards the A`s [ if a gun where to my head ] , and the over/unders should be more lucrative than actual outcomes in this set.

      Tonights number is set at 7 , while Boston does score alot on the road they dont face a rotation like this often , couple that with the fact that Boston hits a wee-bit worse on the road [ .325 home vs. .264 road (ouch)] while Oakland waivers very little at home or away [ .258 vs. .249 ] I would go a low here , but theres another angle here also " Hot & Not " . Boston could come out of thier "not" mode very easily [hunch] so I guess all-in-all because of the intangibles I will bow-out of this one !

        Memphis-thanks.
        I agree but still think that someone wins 3 out of 4 in series and /or possible sweep.
        2-2 is too obvious;as a Sox fan, I would be happy with 2-2 here and 2-of 3 in Fenway.

                  Thanks and I see you can count , that helps on wallstreet .

                  Well what a day , went to dinner and simulcast with a old friend who blew into town , she and I had a great time [ talking over lady stuff ] . Not only was dinner great but we hit a few races at Flagler [ 5th , 6th , 7th ] for Tri`s and enjoyed ourselves very much .

                  Then I get home and turn on my rig and see the disaster that unfolds [ other-wise ] , worst day of the month here !

                  But when you look at all my posts here , one cant help but see that it really wasnt all that bad ;

                  Hit the ;

                  Eagles & and a teaser , my 3*** homeies bet , pulled in the Expos , Minn. , Yanks/K.C. over , and the track was very nice to us as well !

                  Didnt hit ;

                  Fla. [ Willis gave up more runs in 2 innings then he had in the past 23 ( who knew?) ] , Minny / over [ by 1 ] , Balt. & over [ bull-pen should be burnt at the stake ] , St. Louis / Pitt. under [ by 1 ] and Jim Edmonds nails not 1 but 2 at homeplate from centerfield , W-Sox [ they suc ] , and Seattle tried in the 9th to give me my over [ runners on 3rd & 1st. Boone blew it ] lost by 1

                  So 6 wins added , as well as 7 losses , and thats a egg ???? , if thats the case I have seen some big ones laid around here and remember that was almost everygame on the board which I never do .

                  " 70 - 27 - 1 " with one day left on the run and savage1 ,,,, I was right about that Bosox game also !

                  Oh well , I guess I should be bannished for not being perfect .

                    MMM,

                    I didnt see your Beagles bet, also the number of books that take the home/away wager isnt large (my book doesnt), also didnt see the Yanks wager starred.

                    Add those 3 and 6-7 isnt bad, without, 3-7 with extra chalk is a rough night.

                    I hope you have a great rest of the week!

                      G.V.

                      You need to shine those horns up on that headgear !

                      And you cant be tarnished , its to late for that .

                      Looking back on last nite we see several things that came into play better known as " chit-happens " , but I have seen you call the Microsoft [ at 2.00 a share ] , and Butler + 8 vs. Mississippi [ 47 to 46 should have loaded on that one ] . Every dollar we wager are done with betting on people we dont know [ or control ] your observations are your guardrail on the bookie ride and they give us something to hold onto , and I value yours !

                      Anyway , we will recover ! And when we do , lets see more of what we are used too " Winning Baby "

                      p.s. those Trifectas at Flagler last nite where bonus-time ;
                      race5 = 369.00
                      race6 = 593.30
                      race7 = 366.00 [ thats bonus bucks ]

                      As always brought to you from the sunny shores of Ragtown , home of the Leaper Colony !

                        You are right and I hadnt noticed , but on my sheet at home it was a wager , and at Olympic [ aka " the greek " ] he will sometimes throw out these exotics for us to play-on such as today he has the Homeies - 1/2 & total at 134 for the 14 games slated . And the only chalky loss was the Marlins and for your pleasure , throw out the other 3 and the units still reflect a decent night of 6 to 7 [ juice loss ] so 1.7 units down was the final tally and you hold me to loffty to think that was a egg after running the gauntlet on almost everygame on the board .

                        Let me see you hold your butt out there like that ?

                        I guess what I am trying to say is , I am not here to gather negative outlooks [ nor is anyone else ?] I could also say where where you when I went 22-0 ? , and post valuable information for everyone to take advantage of ? , display a winning attitude ? , and I do post daily [ want to join me ? ]

                        All-inall , wagering etiquette [ amongst old-timers ] tells one to never " ever " jump on a lossing ship or suffer the consequence`s . Am I proud of last nites prefomance " NO " , but that is but one nites run and it strange how you felt the need to point that out ?

                        Well this has been lengthly and we wont let it happen again [ 1st impressions can be misleading ] and I want to thank you for your time , and good intentions , the best of best to ya !
