TGS Predicts The NFL Divisional Races!

    AMERICAN CONFERENCE

    EAST

MIAMI DOLPHINS would have won it in 2001 were it not for Fiedler's thumb injury.

NEW YORK JETS Have taken some "hits" to offense, but Pennington + defense = playoffs.

BUFFALO Free agents help defense; Bledsoe helps get team to postseason.

NEW ENGLAND Defense gave way in 2002; too much asked of Brady in tough division.

    SOUTH

TENNESSEE McNair healthy; good thing, because defense caved last year.

INDIANAPOLIS Manning helps Colts make a run; is defense up to task?

HOUSTON Texans on the rise; offensive line determines how high.

JACKSONVILLE Players like new coach Del Rio, but Jags have been taking too much attrition.

    NORTH

CLEVELAND Browns knocked on the door last year; knock it down in 2003.

PITTSBURGH Defenses now know what to expect from "Tommy Gun."

BALTIMORE Ray Lewis back; but QBs, others too young.

CINCINNATI Will be better under Marvin Lewis, but not enough.

    WEST

OAKLAND Still the best in the West, especially if CBs Woodson & Buchanon healthy.

KANSAS CITY Much-needed help is coming for the defense.

DENVER Shanahan helps Jake; how much will Jake help Broncs?

SAN DIEGO More speed on defense, but paper thin and 0-12 last 4 games last 3 years!

    NATIONAL CONFERENCE

    EAST

PHILADELPHIA Last year's near miss means more focus; new stadium this year!

NEW YORK GIANTS Fassel's Giants always find a way to lose a couple they shouldn't.

DALLAS Returning O-Line, defense not that bad; Parcells guides "baby" QBs along.

WASHINGTON Steve "Superior" now has more speed; do Tunas eat Gators?

    SOUTH

ATLANTA Falcons' offense just got faster with Peerless Price & MarTay Jenkins.

TAMPA BAY It's nice to be the king; except for defending Super Bowl champs in the NFL.

NEW ORLEANS Defense still not trustworthy; another late-season fade in store?

CAROLINA Panthers probably better than last year; just won't surprise so many folks.

    NORTH

GREEN BAY Even if Packers win, it won't be easy; has Favre committed retirement in his mind?

MINNESOTA GOOD offense; Vikes won their last three in 2002.

CHICAGO No way Bears suffer so many injuries as '02, and they're back in new Soldier Field.

DETROIT "Mooch" is good for this young team; Lions no road wins last two seasons.

    WEST

ST. LOUIS If either Warner or Bulger perform well, Rams make a run at Eagles, Bucs.

SEATTLE Big influx on defense; Holmgren best when focused on Xs & Os.

SAN FRANCISCO Defense still has holes; did front office weaken coaching staff?

ARIZONA Cards offense--what's left of it--not close to the other three in the West.

    Gold Sheet [ looks ]

I like the looks of his predictions with a few minor changes on my own . Ole Fiesty has been around the block a few times and he is no slouch. I really think his N.F.C. South outlook is close , except for Tampa Bay coming in second , sure Atlanta is going to improve and give fits to a few , but the feeling here is that Vick has one more year to finally hit fourth gear [ then look out ! ] They have to be the toughest division out there [ Carolina went good enough to make the playoffs in a division or 2 last year ] And if New Orleans doesnt suffer thier normal meltdown they are a very good club too.

I see Indy making it to the top this year [ in thier division ] Dungy has way of turning things around on defense .

Green Bay has a cake walk [ with the 26th. easiest schedule ]

Seattle could sneek up on a few folks this year .

Best Improved Club = St. Louis & Buffalo

    IMHO
