I don't think many people can argue that year in and year out the SEC is the strongest conference. The SEC is much deeper than any other conference in America. The Big 10 this years besides Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin was below average. SEC had I think two of the best 5 teams in America with Florida and LSu and than you throw in Auburn, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Georgia you have some more top 30 teams in America. Even the middle of the conference with Alabama, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt was capable of beating anybody on a given Saturday. Teams in the Big 10 like Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana really can't make that claim

I dont think you can tell all that from just one game. If they played a few more times the games would be much different every time. Or if USC won, florida wouldn't have even been in the game. A playoff is seriously needed and sometimes the underdog gets hot and wins. St Louis should not have won the world series but got hot in the playoffs.

I am not taking anything away from florida but saying that they are MUCH better than ohio st from one game is just crazy. So Auburn is better than Florida because they beat them? With this logic that is truth. Or maybe South Carolina is better than ohio st because they played a very close game with florida. You just never know and on any given day one team can lay a stinker and the other plays great.

But I will let the SEC boast about this seeing I hate ohio st and michigan in these parts. Heck maybe wisonsin is better than ohio st seeing they beat arkansas. Who knows? Just give at least a 4 team playoff and let them settle this on the field. Maybe USC wins their semi game and wins the whole thing. I dont know but this one game does not tell the entire story.

Congratulations to Florida. The better team won last night.
The big break didn't help Ohio State, but that shouldn't be
an excuse. Florida showed up and Ohio State didn't. It
didn't matter how Ohio State played all year, and it didn't
matter how Florida played all year. It mattered who played
last night. Do I think Wisconsin would have played Florida
better than Ohio State? Do I think Wisconsin would have
beat Michigan if they played later in the year? Do I think
Wisconsin would have beat Ohio State this year? Do I
think the SEC is better than the Big Ten? Do I think
Wisconsin was a much better team at the end of the year then when they lost their only game of the year at Michigan
early in the year? Do I think Boise State got screwed. None of this matters. What matters is Florida and Ohio State earned their way to the National Championship via the BCS, and Florida won. The BCS is the system till somebody changes it
to a playoff system like the rest of the divisions do in college.

P.S. There are more CEO'S in the United States that graduated
from Wisconsin than Harvard. See the Big Ten is good for something. Don't let yourself get too caught up in sports.
Family, Friends, Faith, Education and Career is where your
attention should be focused at. The rest should be just for fun.

                  I see

Yea I actually have been doing well on the ice since i started posting again on dec 26th i have went 22-13-1 and I have been making each play an equal wager amount so that I dont find myself in a big hole like I did from that HUGE bet......

I have got a huge card riding tonight with 7 selections (average has been bewteen 2-4) so I am hoping i can at least go 4-3 at worst today!!!

Good to see ya around dude, always appreciate your humour!!!

Some classy OSU followers, have started threads, and replied in em, how the BuckEyes got their asses tanned by Fla....they congratulated em.....no excuses....thats class....

TMAC is right on. To those that live down here it is obvious of the Northern media bias given to Big 10 schools and Notre Dame by ESPN and ABC. Herbstriet was so arrogant for the past few weeks building up OSU. SEC football and SEC speed is different than the rest of the country.(USC being the exception.) Their not going to win every matchup but the upper tier teams are far better than the BIG 10's. Hell Vandy put up a better fight than OSU. I bet on UF and was somewhat skeptical of the play, but just a couple of minute in I knew OSU was toast. Zone defense against that speed is suicide. Any decent coach would have known that. By the way I'm an LSU backer and believe we are the 2nd best team in the country.

EXACTLY ... I thought we were all here to win together? I understand the fun and banter before the big games go off but for christ sakes you won! Great job by the Gators and a great job by the BC Few who need to rub the loss other members had in their face. Props to them and i hope they feel better. I'm just amazed at how he has an "Connection" to every team that wins!

Buddy ... Let's be realistic, it works that way with EVERYTHING! Up here we are supposedly stupid when it comes to Nascar, the south knows nothing about hockey ... GIMME A BREAK! Yes, you live down south and people doubted the SEC. We were wrong and the Gators Won. WOOOO HOOOO ... You were right. What else do you want to here? It's sports, it's gambling, the country will always be divided on these games because it's "Life". Move on and enjoy the damn win.

A wise man indeed. Somebody needs to say what's really important, and dEaNo may have accomplished that.

One of the beauties of sports is the spirited yet rational debates that sports ignite. And most of the debates are never to be resolved, due to the difference in eras, cultures, rules changes, and simple logistics, to name a few obstacles. Many can never be resolved, simply because the teams will never be able to resolve it on the field of play.

One thing I cannot get a handle on is the amount of pride associated with conference affiliation. It is almost as if segregation within a bigger society is acceptable and good, even though when schools face each other every year within their conference it is with the notion that they are the hated enemy. Conferences change members all the time, through re-aligment and expansion, even dissolution.

Think of the ACC and Big East changes in the last decade, and schools like TCU and Louisville, with multiple affiliations over a short time.

Granted, the SEC has appeared to be the most stable of the geographically aligned conferences, and has established itself as a consistent solid entity. But it humors me to hear the fans and alums boasting of their conference in the post-season and non-conference, only to defile and loathe their opponents during the conference season. During the world's largest cocktail party ( UGa v Fla), everyone hates the opponent, but I suppose Bulldog fans are beaming with pride that the Gators are nat'l champs in the two biggest NCAA sports right now.

                                I don't get it.
You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.
