It's not as rare as you think. Although, it has been rare the last few season. It happened last week. The Mavs were 17 point favorites over the Hornets.

The largest line was -20. In 1995/1996 season the Bulls were 20 point favorites over the 76ers. They won by 30 points.

Since 1995 Favorites of -17 or more are 26-30 ATS and 56-1 SU. The lone loss was the Wizards lost to the Nuggets as 17 point favorites.

It's not out of whack when you consider 3 weeks ago Suns were 11 point favorites in Miami. Suns won by 10
