Thanks a TON for the plays yesterday, St.Louis was damn scary, but I needed that win. And the NFLX was nerve racking too, but I appreciate the nice plays.
This game is another interesting pick, Cubbies on a mini roll, but not against a great team.
FWIW.....They are one of two N.L. picks for me tonight as well! Most should be on the Cubbies.....but I looked for amoung other things...Estes is still to have his walk a thon outing.....I think the Dodgers will pull Ashby early enough if he gets into any trouble and HE has only given up 2 earned runs or less stat in 5 of 9 going since the first of June...and the Cubs do have a problem when Grudz went down....but a huge factor for the Dodg is Karros is back finally tonight....BIG offensive lift for LA. Their pen is overwhelming as well.....the Cubs is comparitively equally as underwhelming.
Ashby (2-9, 5.49) takes the mound for the Dodgers and looks to break a five-game losing streak. He has made nine starts since being inserted into the rotation on June 7 and has allowed two earned runs or less in five of those starts.
The righthander is 8-2 with a 3.48 ERA in 19 career starts against the Cubs.
Friday also marks the return of Karros to Los Angeles. He was the NL Rookie of the Year in 1992 and hit .268 with 270 home runs and 976 RBI in 1,601 games for the Dodgers.
BEST OF LUCK!! GoldV
I am NOT schizophrenic......and NEITHER am I! Just paranoid that fear may overcome my insanity!
I've got this written for a couple other people and it leaves out a couple of key words from a copy over.....obviously it is Karros RETURNING to LA (AS A CUB) and the offensive lift is that Fred McGriff was out running bases (whom they got in the Karros trade with Hundley etc) and the Dog is back in the Dodger house when some thought he was done for some time.....sorry again for the omission.....too many darn sends to keep track of.........BEST OF LUCK TO ALL!! Gv
There is another stat too if you look at CURRENT hitters on both teams and how they do vs the two pitchers tonight in thier careers. Sosa is IT for the Cubs vs Ashby(they should walk his ass every at bat tonight if they were smart).....The Dodgers have about 4 deep over 333 avg. vs Estes......A little more FWIW
