Look folks - don't believe everything ya hear. Horford may well play and if not Fla has the depth to contend with Ohio State. I know the public is pounding Ohio State.
I follow these guys religiously- Gators are crafty and will foul the big man of Ohio State relentlessly (ala Shaq) who will take his foul line shots with his left hand due to a wrist injury. That is if they can get the ball inside to him. Horfords high ankle sprain will limit him if he can play but he will get his fouls in on the big guy as well. I really feel we will mug the 7 footer today and as the line drops as we get closer to tip off- grab it. This is a trap game and you heard it here first. Florida does not lose at home typically and Ohio State with its wealth of offense will not cover. Nuff said!!

The Ohio State game may be just one game in late December, but it's still a shot to go against the potential 2007 No. 1 NBA draft pick in freshman center Greg Oden. And that may have been enough to motivate Florida junior Al Horford to speed up his recovery from a high ankle sprain.


Horford will dress and will be available to play against Ohio State on Saturday. He will not start, however, as senior Chris Richard will start in his place.

Horford was ruled out for Saturday's showdown in Gainesville on Thursday. But then on Friday, according to the university, the 6-foot-10 Horford practiced for the first time since suffering the injury Dec. 11. He participated in contact drills and his status for Saturday's game against No. 3 Ohio State was evaluated after Saturday morning's shootaround for the 4 p.m. ET tip.

He went through shootaround Saturday without problems.

The Gators (10-2) haven't been at full strength in a month since Corey Brewer contracted mono and Joakim Noah dealt with an upper respiratory infection. Horford and Noah were expected to match up with Oden, in a game between two potential national title contenders.

The Gators (No. 4 ESPN/USA Today, No. 5 AP) didn't want to rush Horford, but they'll also consider playing him if he feels fine. Throughout the week, Florida's staff told ESPN.com there was no point in pushing him if he wasn't ready, with the ultimate goal having him set for the SEC season and beyond.

what are you thoughts that this is now a Fla -5.5 line and that there might not be as much of a home court advantage as the students are now on break and it may not be "as" crazy as usual.

It seems to me they are trying to suck in as much OSU $ as possible with the reverse line move.
