Seems that --

the break between the last reg. season game and the bowl game(s) has some effect on teams. A little slower start to the games offensively so the OVER player is always chasing from the start. Then teams settle in and start scoring but come up short on the total.
Eventually teams will be better prepared and score from the beginning -- and it starts today.
