This game is screaming......

OVER 54 to me

Neither team has a strong defense. Rice's D is horrible allowing 33 ppg, 191 RYPG and 226 PYPG. While Troy's defense is giving up 207 PYPG and only 137 YPG on the ground. Troy only has only allowed an average of 23 points per game, which may seem like a decent number, BUT may I remind you that they play in an Offensively Anemic Conference, the Sun Belt. They allowed FIU to score 13. A team that scored 10 total points in the 5 games prior to their matchup w/ Troy (FIU was also +7 in TOP). Arkansas St put up 33 on Troy their highest point output this year. Ark St averaged 16 ppg in offensive scoring. The highest scoring O in the Sun Belt averages 23 ppg.

I think Troy will be able to get their share of the 54 and Rice should grab the lions share of it.

Looking at this as well. Just a little worried if Troy can hold Rice to 27 points can Troy muster enough (like you said against a poor Rice defense) to score 28?? But I think your analysis is right on

Troys weakness on D is against the pass. That plays right into Rice's strength. I'm hoping Rice scores early forcing Troy to go to the air early and often (Troy has an etremely balanced offense) a formula to me that is conducive to an over.

Once again, think you are dead on here, Hope you don't mind me discussing this with you in your thread.

Once again my only concern is Troy. Troy does start slow in the 1st quarter so agree here. They do run a balanced attack and only once have scored more then 26 points and that was against ULLaf. Rice is more balanced then people belive with a 139 Rush/207 Pass yards per game. The Troy coaches may attempt to slow clock and run the ball more, as the only real chance they have in this game is to keep Rice off the field and keep hitting Clement who is already hurt. Troy only stands a chance in a low scoring game and can not trade touchdowns so.

Just my two cents, still may play the over

I DO NOT mind discussing my thought. This is only my opinion and I welcome a discussion. I do write ups not to talk anyone into anything just to say this is why and to let you know I took it a little further then just looking at a line and making a pick.

A very compelling stat for both teams pass d to me was that Troy is allowing opposing Qb's a rating of 122 while Rice allows a 148 rating.
I think the key to the game is Troy falling behind early therefore slowing down the clock will become a disadvantage.
Troy's QB was the SunBelt offensive player of the year and I think he should be let loose.

And Rice does have the worst run stop unit in CUSA allowing almost 5.5 ypr.

I don't think Troy will be able to hold Rice down and I know Rice will not hold Troy down.
