Question for " ALL "

I was wondering if at all how much importance you put on a game that has a " lefty " or a " righty " or for that matter at " home " or " away " also ?

Let me see a show of hands to this one ?

Reason I ask ?

Is there are major disparities involved in some baseball games when its [ lefty vs. righty ] or [ home vs. away ]

Take for instance the Colorado Rocks are a double edge sword in some cases ;

Runs scored - 631 , home- 379 .302 ba , away-252 .244 ba
also vs. righties 442 .260 ba , vs. lefties 189 .306

these are major blimps on the radar and there are about a dozen teams that reflect such disparities that should be noticed to say the least !

Reds are another one , who are just plain horrible when compared to thier records ;

lefties = .233 ba , righties = .260 ba , as a team thats one hell-of-a drop

Cubs reflect a major look also vs. lefties they hit .286 but vs. righties they plummet to .252

White-Sox as well vs. lefties .278 but vs. righties they are at a .248 clip

Anyway , I was hoping to get a few kick-backs on this angle ???

on the whole i think its important to look at righties and lefties (how they match -up against the opposition) as well as looking as home vs road teams...............but we all know that logic does not always prevail and funny things do happen


I more try to look at each game individually and see bring in all these variables (home , away, lefties, righties) into my decision making

and sometimes i just fade and go on hunches

And I would not trade my instincts [ like you ] for all the tea in China , but for years now I found these trends to hold water . They are after all a " true read " of the teams ability to tread water so-to-speak , now granted there are always things that will break the normal line of numbers and deviate from the norm , but I feel the numbers are a great way to give me a sound starting point to base my judgements on .

One can as we say , get number drunk , if common sense is not allowed to enter his [ or her`s ] equations but then again I believe fighting fire with fire [books] is a great starting shot !
