  • Spears ATS Bowl Winners

    Greetings:

All of my plays are on the dogs.

I believe this is too many points to give to N. Illinois. TCU has a better defense but the emotion factor is with N. Illinois to show that it belongs and TCU feeling it deserves better.
My system includes who covered the spread the least- it was solid last year and pray tell will be again.
    1) 12/19
    N. ILL + 12 1/2 vs TCU

    Team records:
Northern Illinois: 7-5 SU, 4-7 ATS
    TCU: 10-2 SU, 8-3 ATS

    Northern Illinois most recently:
When playing in December are 1-1
When playing on grass are 5-5
    After outgaining opponent are 7-3
When playing outside the conference are 5-5

    TCU most recently:
When playing in December are 6-3
When playing on grass are 9-1
    After outgaining opponent are 8-2
When playing outside the conference are 8-2

    A few trends to consider:
The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Northern Illinois's last 7 games
Northern Illinois is 7-3 SU in its last 10 games
TCU is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games
TCU is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games
The total has gone OVER in 4 of TCU's last 5 games

2005---If you just bet on the team with the worse ATS record for the season you are also 16-6 so far.
          2005 (ATS records in parathesis)

Ark St (4-6) vs S Miss (5-5) Ark St ------------W
          UTEP (4-6) vs. Tol (3-6) Tol ------------------W
          BYU (5-5) vs. Cal (3-7) Cal -------------------L
Navy (7-3) vs. Col St (5-6) CSU --------------L
          Houst (6-4) vs. Kans (5-5) Kans --------------W
          Nev (7-4) vs. CFla (7-5) CFla -----------------W
          Akr (7-5) vs. Mem (5-5) Mem -----------------W
          Colo (5-7) vs. Clem (7-4) Colo ----------------W
          Rutg (4-6) vs. ASU (5-6) Rutg ----------------W
          BC (6-5) vs. Boise (7-4) BC -------------------W
          Neb (5-5) vs. Mich (5-6) Mich -----------------L
          Utah (3-8) vs. GT (4-6) Utah -----------------W
          Okla (5-6) vs. Ore (7-3) Okla -----------------W
Virg (5-6) vs. Minn (7-4) play on Virg--------- W
NW (7-4) vs. UCLA (6-5) play on UCLA-------- W
Mizz (5-6) vs. SCar (6-5) play on Mizz --------W
LSU (5-5) vs. Miami (4-7) play on Mia--------- L

Last count was 16-6 first 22 bowl games! Spiccoli had shown the Overs are 13-4 against the Unders in first 17 games.
After this the better teams have better defenses and this is not as successful.

Thanx guys- Looking weak here to begin with. N. Illini can't seem to get much offense as TCU is riding them on defense. Solid D on both teams. Lets try

                TCU -7 1/2 2nd Half
                TCU -7 1/2 and Under 21 Parlay

Thanx Dimer- I guess I just can't play against my alma tomater. No actually the system is against the spread. Adding trends comes next and voila- lets see what happens. When you think about it these plays are what Vegas doesn't want you to play- hmm - maybe.

                        E. Carolina is the dog but has a better ATS record than USF- thus USF is the play.
OKlahoma is also a fav but have a weaker ATS record. OKlahoma is now on my list as well. Thanx

                            Spearit,
Understand your logic and it is sound. One exception is BYU, a team that for all intensive purposes is probably a Top 10 team. Unless they all get drunk the night before (unlikely, they're Mormons), there is no way Oregon can stop them nor score enough to stay in the game. I may be wrong, but Oregon is the "fashionable" play as BYU got zero line respect all year from Vegas (linemakers never caught on as week after week many of us made a killing playing BYU. Even some of the "services" jumped on board about mid-season and Vegas STILL did not adjust their line). Now, because of BYU's close shave in their last game, the line is dropping and was already a steal IMO at -5. I have to play 'em again.
