  • Bowl Betting Question from long-time lurker

I spend more time reviewing Bettors Chat than almost any other website. I've learned a great deal about capping from Wayne, Kaptain, et al. over the past year or so.

That said - I consider myself a "square" bettor. As such,
I'm not sure if I should place my Bowl Season bets now, or wait for line movements. I've done my homework and feel confident about my picks. Any suggestions?

I always bet immediately after capping. If I like the game at today's line why wait. The line can also move against you.

I agree with frank. Place them now and enjoy the Holidays!

i wait. but thats just me. lots of down time here. things change, heck coaches get fired coaches leave, players can get hurt in practice. lots of different variables. some teams dont show up. i really like a game, i'll bet it early. if not i wait. but thats just me.

Rimmo, can I ask who your top picks are for the bowl season.......and for anyone else out there rather.....I would like to compare mine to some of you guys out there so we can all go home with some big bucks following bowl season........I like TCU, south carolina, Texas A & M, and I got ohio st -6.5 early

Bry and Thai, good points. I haven't bet any of the bowl games because I haven't capped them.

If you already did your capping, it was based on the existing lines you were looking at.........any change would affect your picks one way or the other.......and If you feel a swing of 1 or 2 pts either way can change your pick, then you shouldn't be betting any game that you cap that close any way........

In essence----make em now---some you'll gain on, some you'll lose on---line movement that is...........

Only drawback is----a key player could get hurt before game time, and this could affect you drasticly...........

Example----Quinn for ND, lets say, tears up his throwing arm----thats a big impact player....rarely happens, but could.......

I say roll the dice, and play em now....kapt

especially if you think you're gonna get line movement in your favor, that is against the general public-kapt

You can usually tell which way the line is gonna move, so if you like one side and you think it's gonna move in your favor wait, if not bet it right then. Example, Ohio St., I think everybody knew that line would go up, so if you liked Ohio St, good thing you jumped on it.
