  • Iverson demands trade, will miss Friday's game

Peter Vescey reports in Friday's New York Post that Allen Iverson went to GM Billy King on Tuesday and demanded a trade. Iverson has also been ruled out for Friday's game with a back injury.
According to two NBA GMs, the Sixers are aggressively trying to move Iverson, but other Sixers may be traded as well. Iverson's salary (currently $17.1 million with $19M and $20.8M remaining) won't make it easy to move him and Andre Iguodala or Samuel Dalembert could also be included in a deal. We're hearing from NBCSports.com's Frank Isola that Denver is the early leader for his services, while Chris Webber is also reportedly being shopped by the team, and his contract may have to be included in an Iverson trade. With the trade rumors and his latest injury, it's possible that Iverson has played his last game for the Sixers.

As a Spurs fan, I would love to have him. Hell....I'd shop Tony Parker for Iverson and a 1st rounder!
            5* 0-0
            4* 0-0
            3* 1-0
            2* 1-0
            1* 0-1

Iverson is to the NBA, what TO is to the NFL.......the shits.......IMO, and it has nothing to do with their abilities, as they are both good athletes......kapt

Yes, Iverson has done a few things off the court to lessen his credibility, but he plays harder than any player in the NBA. In a league where players are constantly show-boating and giving half-ass effort, this has to count for something. I hope he goes to a good team with a legit shot to make a title run because I think AI still has a lot left.

I don't have strong feelings either way but don't be shocked if Boston sneaks in here to make a deal with Philly. They were VERY close in the offseason to getting a trade together. Pierce was not included, it was a few of the younger kids like Jefferson, Rondo, West & others. I'm not saying it will happen by any means but Boston is looking to shake things up as well. Philly also didn't seem to care about trading him within the division either so i don't think it was as big of an issue as others might.

                          Just a thought .............

If Philly is smart they'll tell any team that wants Iverson has to take C Webb, and they won't trade Igudola, unless they can get Kevin Garnett.

I live in Philly and am a 4 for 4 sports guy, but I wish they woulda got rid of Iverson in the summer - anyone with half a brain (Billy King operates at 1/3 of one) could have seen this shit coming a mile away - get young player or expiring contracts pllllllllllllllease and then get the #1 pick ODEN Sixers 2007
