While the University of Alabama has played three of its seven games outside the confines of its home in Coleman Coliseum, (Alabama played three games in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands in the Paradise Jam). The Crimson Tide has its first true road game of the season when it travels to South Bend, Ind., where it will play the University of Notre Dame at 8 p.m. CT on Thursday, December 7, 2006.
The Tide brings a 7-0 record into the game. Notre Dame is 6-1, its only loss by two points (71-69) against now Top 15 ranked Butler in the NIT Season Tip-Off. The Fighting Irish come into the Alabama game after handing then No. 23 AP/No. 19 Coaches Poll Maryland its first loss of the season. Notre Dame won that game of the BB&T Classic Sunday Night in Washington,D.C., 81-74.
Notre Dame’s wins have come against IPFW, Lafayette, The Citadel, Lehigh, Winston-Salem State and Maryland. Alabama’s seven wins have come, in order, against Jackson State, Middle Tennessee, Iowa, Xavier, Texas Southern,Louisiana Monroe, and its latest, a 78-60 win at home on Saturday afternoon against Tennessee State.
Key:With All-American point guard Ronald Steele back in the lineup I look for Alabama to prevail in this game as size and quickness is in their favor. I Think it will be a close game until the last 3 minutes as Alabama will break away with consistent foul shooting from Steele and the guards.
Alabama +120
Record to date in college (0-0)
All of my post will be in the same thread for ncaa for the remainder of the week. as the new week starts i will start a new thread and the record will be in the title, but throughout the week continue to search in this same thread for everyday picks until the new week starts, good luck!
