Here are my plays for Thursday.
NCAA Hoops (31-23-2, +10.47*) - Five plays pending, first two not looking so good. I'll update the record when all games are final tonight.
1* Alabama pk +109 - Not generally my style to play a ranked team on the road against an unranked team, but two factors make Alabama the play, IMO. Notre Dame comes a bit overvalued after beating a mediocre Maryland team, and Alabama has had this game circled since losing at home to ND last season. I think this year’s Bama team is as good as there is in the nation, and ND has lost a lot since the game in Tuscaloosa last season.
1* Long Beach State -5.5 (-110) - I think the odds makers have caught up to Long Beach after their terrible showing on the east coast. Now, they return home to play a Pepperdine team that is having all kinds of problems. Two players just quit the team, including their lone star, Michael Gerrity. It is important that he was their best ball handler, and Long Beach plays a frenetic style which will likely bother the replacement guards. Also, the Waves have three players injured, and this is the type of game which Long Beach can get well and win by double digits.
Will almost certainly be adding Miami, assuming the line moves towards Michigan. Best of luck everyone!
